2023 Band Trip to Texas (Registration Past Due): If you are receiving the Band Trip emails, please be sure to respond to the message that was sent out yesterday. Information was requested via Google Form. The link to the form will close tonight at 11:00pm. Registration was due online through BRT last Friday. The first deposit is due this Friday, September 2nd. Please contact Mrs. Robinson if you are interested in attending the trip and are not receiving the trip emails. Thursday Rehearsal Attire (Thurs. 9/1): For this Thursday, band students will wear a black shirt with dark colored shorts. Auxiliary will wear a white shirt with black bottoms. Healthy Snack (Late Orders due by Tues. 8/30): Attached to this email is a list of students who ordered Healthy Snack. Please contact Mrs. Robinson by this Tuesday if your order is incorrect or if you still want to order healthy snack. The meal plan is $35. Meals will be for away games and parades on 9/2, 9/30, 10/21, 12/2, and 12/6. The meal includes a 6-inch Subway sandwich, chips, a cookie, and water. Sandwich options are ham, turkey, veggie, or BMT (Italian). On Friday, we’ll distribute healthy snack at 3:30pm in the band room. Away Game at Barron Collier HS (Fri. 9/2): Our first away game of this year is this Friday! Call time for students is 4:00pm. The band room will be open after school on Friday. Band students will wear this year’s green Marching Pride shirt, this year’s black marching band shorts, black socks, and marching band shoes. Auxiliary students will wear this year’s black Mad World shirt, pregame leggings, tights, black auxiliary shoes, earrings, and full hair and makeup. All students are expected to travel together to and from Barron Collier HS via school bus. The game starts at 7:00pm and tickets are available on gofan.co. Please be prepared to pick-up your student around 10:30-11:00pm. Students will text and call their rides when they leave BCHS and when we are close to approaching PRHS. Third Quarter Break at Barron Collier HS: All students will eat during their 3rd quarter break, but that will not be until after 8:00pm. Students will have to bring money to purchase their meals at BCHS. These meals are not included in the band fee. BCHS Band Boosters will have a variety of drinks, candy, and snacks. Their meal choices include Chicken Tenders ($6), Hot Dog ($3), Hamburger ($4), and Cheeseburger ($5). They are also offering a $6 meal deal with the choice of a hot dog, hamburger, or cheeseburger with chips and water/soda. Or a $8 meal deal with chicken tenders, chips, and water/soda. Post-Game Drumline Showcase (Fri. 9/2): We’re going to bring back an old tradition and have a drumline circle with our “Band-in-Laws” after Friday’s game. The last time we were able to do this was in 2018. It’s a great opportunity for both drumlines to showcase their skills while both programs share their traditions and school spirit. Both drumlines will perform 2-3 cadences and we’ll take a group picture at the end. If you plan on attending the game, please know that we only allow the band students and chaperones on the field. This event is also contingent upon weather and the course of the game. We hope to see you there! PLEASE READ Student Pick-up and Drop-Off: Please drop-off and pick-up your student in the main loop by the flagpole entrance of the school. Please do not use the faculty parking lot for pick-up, drop-off, or parking especially for this Friday! We will be loading and unloading our equipment for the band in the Faculty Parking Lot before and after the game. In the past, parents have been very upset with our Boosters when they’ve been asked to move their cars to make way for our trailers. To avoid conflict and especially for the safety of our students and parent volunteers, please do not enter the Faculty Parking Lot on Friday. Thank you for your cooperation. Student Parking: Students will park in the Student Parking Lot for this week’s rehearsals and for Friday’s game. We do not need to park in the back for away games. Car Wash Fundraiser (Sat. 9/10): The Band Boosters are holding their first Trip Fundraiser; a Car Wash. Students will have the opportunity to pre-sell car wash tickets. The ticket pre-sale form is attached to this email. For every ticket sold, students will earn $5 towards their Trip to Texas. Ticket sales will end on Thursday, September 8th. The Car Wash will be on Saturday, September 10th from 10:00am-3:00pm on Wilson Blvd. behind Fayard Hardware. We will need student and parent volunteers for this event. Students will be able to sign-up in the band room. Parent volunteers should contact Mr. Anthony Rowtie at [email protected]. All-State Auditions (Sat. 9/24): All-State Auditions will be held at Lely High School on Saturday, September 24th. Students will have to provide their own transportation to Lely HS. These auditions are for selected students who passed a pre-audition. Audition times will be given when received. Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music and Christman Music. Both vendors can drop off orders and pick-up instruments for repair at PRHS—but parents have to call to make arrangements ahead of time. Instruments will not be picked up unless orders for repair are placed ahead of time. Contact information for Cadence Music and Christman Music can be found on the band website under the “Students” tab. Marching Pride Sponsors: We are reaching out to local businesses and contributors to the arts to help fund our program. Special funding projects that could use sponsors include the cost to transport instruments to marching competitions and the cost to transport instruments to Texas. Every gift helps to provide our students with life-changing experiences. If you or a business you know of is interested in donating to the Marching Pride, please contact our Band Booster President Mr. Anthony Rowtie at [email protected] or Mrs. Robinson at [email protected].
