The Wind Ensemble had a very successful Pre-MPA performance at Gulf Coast last week. Thank you to all parents who helped to chaperone and work truck crew for this event.
 
The Band Boosters are holding a Yankee Candle Fundraiser. Information was provided to students last Friday. We’re asking all band students to sell at least one item from the catalog. This fundraiser is for our Band Banquet, which is held in May. We hope all students will participate.
 
We’re having our “Winter” Band Concert this Thursday night in the PRHS Auditorium starting at 6:30pm. We hope to see you all there to support our four concert bands and two jazz bands.

Contacting Mrs. Robinson: When emailing Mrs. Robinson, please send your messages to robina2@collierschools.com. Some parents and students have been emailing a “Charms” email address—Mrs. Robinson has not been receiving those messages and cannot view them. We apologize for the confusion.
 
 
Band Dress Rehearsals: The concert band dress rehearsals this week will be in the auditorium. Students must be in attendance in order to perform in the Winter Band Concert this Thursday. Students do not need to wear their concert attire for this rehearsal.  
 
 
Winter Band Concert: The Winter Band Concert will be on Thursday, March 1st in the PRHS auditorium. This performance is for all concert bands and all jazz bands. There is no admission charge. All parents, family and friends are encouraged to attend to support the PRHS Bands! Call time for students is 5:30pm dressed in the assigned concert attire uniform. The doors will open at 6:00pm and the performance will start at 6:30pm. Our Band Boosters will be providing concessions for the event. There will be pizza, snacks, drinks, and band swag available. Please contact Mr. Buddy Rainey if you’re interested in helping (bud1025@embarqmail.com).
 
 
District Concert Band MPA: District Concert Band MPA performances will be on Wednesday, March 7th for Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony. Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble will be performing on Thursday, March 8th.

Important Dates to Remember: Please take special note to a few dates on the calendar:
 
  • Next Band Booster Meeting is Monday, March 5th at 7:00pm.
  • The next Varsity Guard Competition is on Saturday, March 10th. The team is traveling to Durant.
  • The Bravo Dance Competition is on Sunday, March 11th at Lehigh Sr. High School.
  • State Solo & Ensemble MPA will be at John I. Leonard High School on March 19, 20, or 21.
  • State Auxiliary MPA will be on Wednesday, March 28th at Palmetto Ridge High School. All auxiliary groups will be performing at State.
  • 2018-2019 Marching Pride Information Meeting will be on Tuesday, April 3rd. This meeting will be for all new and returning students and parents who are interested in joining the band next season.
 
 
Upcoming Fundraisers: 
 
  • Yankee Candle Fundraiser (Monday 2/26 through Thursday 3/8): Our Band Boosters will be selling Yankee Candles for the Spring. This fundraiser is for all band students to help raise money for the Band Banquet. All orders are due by Thursday, March 8th—the last school day for students before Spring Break.

Congratulations to our Varsity Guard for placing 4th in their class at the FFCC Guard Competition in Lakeland!
 
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Flower Gram Fundraiser. The fundraiser was a success and our students enjoyed receiving their flowers during class.

Congratulations to our Jazz Band for earning an overall Excellent rating at their District Jazz MPA last Monday! Both jazz bands will perform at the Winter Band Concert on Thursday, March 1st. Please save the date! The Winter Band Concert will feature all four concert bands and two jazz bands!

Band Booster Meeting: Our Band Boosters are having their monthly meeting this Monday at 7:00pm in the Band Room. All parents are encouraged to attend.
