This Week’s Schedule: Tuesday (5/24)
2022-2023 Marching Pride Commitment Forms & Fees (Past Due): Please be sure to turn in your commitment forms and fees for next season ASAP. If you have any financial concerns, please contact Mrs. Robinson to discuss the options. 2022 Graduation Band: Please be reminded that all non-graduating band students are required to perform in the 2022 PRHS Graduation Ceremony unless they turned in a commitment form stating their conflict. The Graduation Band will rehearse after school on Tuesday, May 24th and Thursday, May 26th from 2:15-3:15pm. The Graduation Ceremony is on Saturday, May 28th and the call time will be 7:00am. Attire will be this year’s silver Marching Pride band t-shirt and khaki or light-colored shorts—no denim, with gym shoes. Students may wear hats and sunglasses. Sunscreen and water will be required. Students should be done by 11:30am at the latest. 2022-2023 Marching Pride Officer Meeting (Thurs. 5/26): There will be a mandatory Officer Meeting for all 2022-2023 Marching Pride Officers on Thursday, May 26th at 12:00pm in the band room. Please be early so that we can end on time. Band & Auxiliary Final Exams: Final exams are scheduled for May 31st (Periods 2, 4, and 6), June 1st (Periods 1, 3, and 5), and June 2nd (Period 7) Students will return their school owned instruments and clean out their lockers in class on these days. All school owned instruments and lockers must be returned by no later than June 2nd. Students who are returning to band next year will be allowed to take their school owned instruments home over the summer. Concert Attire and Marching Band Shoe Donations: If you are not returning to band next year, please consider donating your concert attire and marching band shoes before you leave. These donations will go to future students who might be able to purchase them on their own. 2023 All-State Band Audition Music: The All-State Band Audition Music has been posted on the FBA website: https://fba.flmusiced.org/all-state/audition-requirements/. Mrs. Robinson has most of the concert band books in the band library. Students who are serious about auditioning for All-State can see Mrs. Robinson for more information and copies of the audition music. Auditions are on Saturday, September 24th at Lely High School. Students who wish to audition must take private lessons or pass a pre-audition with Mrs. Robinson by Friday, August 12th. Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music (239) 275-6262 and Christman Music (239) 254-8863. Our Band Awards Banquet was a huge success! A very special thank you to all our parent volunteers and staff who helped with our Band Awards Banquet and Ceremony. We are so pleased and thankful to have such dedicated Band Boosters who work to fundraise what’s needed so that we can recognize our students for all their accomplishments and provide them with food, music, and dancing so that they could celebrate an amazing year! Last night’s event wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our parents. 2022-2023 Marching Pride Officer Applications & Contracts (Past Due): All applications and contracts were due last Friday by 5:00pm. There are a few students who turned in an application but did not turn in a contract in Canvas. These students will have until 9:00pm on Monday, May 9th to turn in their audition contracts through Canvas. Any student who does not turn in their contract will not be allowed to continue with the audition process. We are no longer accepting any online applications at this time. Please contact Mrs. Robinson if you have any questions. Drum Major Auditions (Tues. 5/10): Drum Major Auditions will be in the band room on Tuesday, May 10th starting at 2:15pm. Current officers and students who are applying for a 2022-2023 officer position are invited to watch the conducting portion of the audition. All applicants are reminded to sign-up for their audition number, through the link provided on Canvas. Spring Band Concert Dress Rehearsals (Wed. 5/11): All concert bands will have their dress rehearsal for the Spring Band Concert on Wednesday, May 11th. Students do not have to dress up for the rehearsal. Please refer to the schedule above for specific times. Spring Band Concert (Thurs. 5/12): Our Spring Band Concert is this Thursday, May 12th. Call time for students is 5:30pm. The concert will start at 6:30pm and there is no admission charge. This concert will feature our jazz bands, concert bands, students who performed at State Solo & Ensemble MPA, and the Marching Pride. Please come to see our final performance of the year! Senior Spotlight Program Ads (Due by 5/9): If you would like to have your senior featured in this year’s Band Banquet Program, please consider purchasing a Senior Spotlight Program Ad. This is a great way to share what your senior has planned for next year and it’s a great opportunity for parents to send a message of congratulations to their senior student. Senior Spotlight Program Ads are due by Monday, May 9th. Please see the attached order form for more information. The Awards Ceremony will start at 4:00pm in the auditorium. This ceremony is open to everyone, and parents are strongly encouraged to attend. The Banquet and Dance will be in the cafeteria from 6:00-9:00pm. The Banquet and Dance is only for current Marching Pride students. We're asking all students to RSVP by 2:00pm on Monday, May 9th.
