We’d like to thank all of our parent and student volunteers who came out to help with the All County Honor Band Auditions! Thank you for giving your time. The evening ran very smoothly thanks to all of your help!
 
We’re very proud to announce that we have 9 students participating in the Honor Band this year! Congratulations to the following students for making the 2020 All County Honor Band!

All students listed above are reminded to check their calendars for all the scheduled rehearsal and performances. If you have any conflicts, please notify Mrs. Robinson immediately. All rehearsals are required. There are no excused absences. 
 
Thank you to our auxiliary students and parents who have been raising funds at the Orangetree Publix. The Auxiliary Team will be at the Orangetree Publix again today from 11:00am-5:00pm. Please stop by to support them!
 
On Monday the jazz bands will be performing at Third St. South from 6:00-9:00pm. Please consider stopping by to support our jazz band students.
 
This weekend, the Band Boosters are holding another Publix Fundraiser at the Strand location. Please consider volunteering your time to help raise money for the Marching Pride. 
 
We hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving! Hopefully you’ll all have some time to get some rest and spend quality time with your family and friends!

Decorating Instruments/Equipment for upcoming Holiday Parades: It is a tradition of the Marching Pride to decorate their instruments and equipment for our upcoming Holiday Parades: Ave Maria, Naples Christmas Parade, and the Disney Parade. Students typically use lights, bows, and/or garland on their instruments. This week would be a great time to shop for these items, especially the lights as stores typically run out soon after Thanksgiving. Decorating instruments and equipment is completely optional, but we hope that everyone will consider participating. The Marching Pride also typically wears Santa hats/holiday head gear for these events. We have several Santa hats for students to borrow, but it’s strongly recommended that they wear their own hats if they own them. Students can ask their section leaders, captains, and/or drum majors for more details. 
 

Concert Band Attire: All band students are reminded that they will need their Concert Band Uniforms ready by Winterfest. Please order your uniforms now so that you have time to alter them when they come in. Click here for instructions.    
 

Solo & Ensemble and Auxiliary Solo Entry Forms (Past Due): All students who are interested in participating in this year’s District Solo & Ensemble MPA and/or District Auxiliary MPA should have already turned in their forms. Please see Mrs. Robinson if you did not turn in your form.
 
 
Indoor Auxiliary Contracts (Past Due): Please turn in your indoor auxiliary contracts at your earliest convenience. Indoor fees are not due until December 20th.
 
 
Disney Band Trip Forms (Past Due): Please be sure to turn in all of your required forms if you have not already done so. 
 
 
Third St. South Jazz Band Performances (Mon. 11/25): Our Jazz Bands will be performing at Third. St. South for the annual Tree Lightening Celebration. Both Jazz Bands will be performing from 6:00-9:00pm on 12th Ave. South just east of Third St. South. Please stop by for this very festive event! The call time for all jazz band students is 1:00pm in the band room in their proper attire. 
 
 
After School Concert Band Rehearsals (Week of 12/2): When we return from Thanksgiving Break, each concert band will have two after school rehearsals to prepare for WinterFest. Wind Symphony will rehearse on Mon. 12/2 and Wed. 12/4 from 2:15-3:15pm. Symphonic Winds will rehearse on Thurs. 12/5 and Fri. 12/6 starting at 2:15pm. Wind Ensemble will rehearse on Thurs. 12/5 from 3:30-4:30pm and on Fri. 12/6 from 3:15-4:00pm. These rehearsals are required and graded. 
 
 
After School Marching Band Rehearsal (Tues. 12/3): The Marching Pride will be rehearsing on Tues. 12/3 from 2:30-4:00pm to prepare for their holiday parades. This rehearsal is required and graded. 
 
 
Culver’s Spirit Night (Wed. 12/4): The Marching Pride will be performing at our next Culver’s Spirit Night from 5:00-8:00pm. There is very limited room. A signup sheet will be posted in the band room.  
 
 
Band Picture Orders: Please note that all orders for band pictures go directly to the photographer. Mrs. Robinson is not collecting band picture orders or payments. Click for Directions on how to view and order your pictures online. 
 
 
Parent Volunteers Needed!

Another semi-quiet week for the Marching Pride, but things are slowly beginning to pick-up again, so please check the Band Calendar for our upcoming events!
 
Indoor Auxiliary after school practices start this week. Concert Band after school practices start after we return from Thanksgiving Break. We’re hosting All County Honor Band Auditions on Tuesday from 3:00-9:00pm. Thank you to all parents and students who have signed up to volunteer and good luck to our students who are preparing to audition. Please consider coming out to support our Jazz Bands at Third Street South on Monday, November 25th.

Indoor After School Practices: All indoor groups will start their after school practices this week. Dance will practice on Monday and Wednesday in the band room from 4:30-8:30pm this week. Varsity Guard will practice on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm and JV Guard will practice on Tuesday from 6:30-8:30pm. 
 
 
All County Honor Band Auditions (Tues. 11/9): Palmetto Ridge Bands is hosting this year’s All County Honor Band Auditions. All students who are auditioning must turn in their audition contract and travel authorization form by this Tuesday. These forms are found on the band website: https://www.prhsbands.org/ccps-honor-band.html. Mrs. Robinson will email parent volunteers the hours they are assigned. Student volunteer assignments will be posted in the band room. 
 
 
Auxiliary Orders (Due Tues. 11/19): Any auxiliary students who need to purchase additional tights, shoes, pirouettes, earrings, or gloves need to turn in their orders and payments by this Tuesday. These are all items that are not included in with the indoor auxiliary fee. Please keep in mind that all students must have proper tights (no holes) and earrings, guard students are recommended to purchase gloves, and all JV guard students will need to have tan shoes. If you are missing any of these items, you will have purchase new ones. 
 
 
Disney Band Trip Forms (Due Thurs. 11/21): Please be sure to turn in all of your required form by Thursday, November 21st. The required forms have been sent via email. 
 
 
Marching Pride Jacket Orders (Due Thurs. 11/21): Due to popular demand, we are offering a second round of band jacket orders. We hope to have the jackets to everyone before our Disney trip, but in order to do so, we have to turn in the order by the end of this week. Publix Fundraiser for Auxiliary (Fri. 11/22-Sun. 11/24): Our Band Boosters are hosting a Publix Fundraiser at the Orange Tree location to help fund our Indoor Auxiliary Events. Student and parent volunteers are asked to help out on Friday, 11/22 from 3:00-6:00pm and on Saturday, 11/23 and Sunday, 11/24 from 11:00am-5:00pm. Please contact Mrs. Dana Rowtie at anad28@aol.comor Mrs. Claudia Sumalla at chiquita0428@yahoo.com if you’re able to help out.

School Clothing Drive: SGA and NHS are holding a clothes drive to help the homeless who seek shelter and assistance from St. Matthew’s House.  Please check your closets, garage, and attic for gently used clothing that can make the lives of the less fortunate a little better. Donated clothes can be dropped off in the Activities Office. The clothes drive will run until November 22nd.

Pretty easy week coming up. On Tuesday, there are several items that are due: Solo & Ensemble Band Entry Forms, Auxiliary Solo Entry Forms, and Disney Trip Hoodie Orders. Dance has another camp this Friday.

Solo & Ensemble and Auxiliary Solo Entry Forms (Due Tues. 11/12): All students who are interested in participating in this year’s District Solo & Ensemble MPA and/or District Auxiliary MPA must turn in an entry form by next Tuesday, November 12. Indoor Auxiliary Contracts (Past Due): Please turn in your indoor auxiliary contracts at your earliest convenience.  
 
 
Auxiliary Orders (Due Tues. 11/19): On Tuesday, Mrs. Robinson will have order forms for any auxiliary students who need to purchase additional tights, shoes, pirouettes, earrings, or gloves. All Wind Ensemble students who are not auditioning are required to volunteer for at least 2 hours. All other interested students should see Mrs. Robinson to volunteer. Student volunteers will be needed from 2:00-9:00pm.
