Congratulations to our Varsity Guard! They had their first competition at Braden River High School last Saturday. We were very proud of their performance. The team scored a 64.45. Varsity Guard will compete again this Saturday at Lakewood Ranch High School. Our Dance Team will also compete in the Bravo Dance Competition at Lehigh Senior High School on Sunday. Good luck to both teams!

This concert will feature our concert bands, jazz bands, select solo and ensemble groups, and concert bands from Immokalee Middle School, Cypress Palm Middle School, and Corkscrew Middle School. Congratulations to our auxiliary team on a very successful District Auxiliary MPA! All our indoor auxiliary groups earned Superior ratings and qualified for State! We had 32 soloists perform, and of the 32 events, 9 earned Excellent ratings, and 23 qualified for State with Superior ratings. Congratulations to all our students, we’re so proud of all of you! State Auxiliary MPA will be at Palmetto Ridge High School on Tuesday, April 2nd.

CCPS Concert Band Pre-MPA (Tues. 2/20): Our Wind Ensemble will have their Pre-MPA performance at Gulf Coast High School on Tuesday, February 20th. Call time is 4:30pm. Performance time is 7:00pm. After the performance, the students will watch bands perform. The approximate return to PRHS is 9:00pm. Parents and students are encouraged to come and watch the performances in the GCHS auditorium. There is no admission charge. Congratulations to all our students who participated in this year’s District Solo & Ensemble MPA! We had 41 students participating in 24 events this year. 18 entries earned a Superior rating, 5 entries earned an Excellent rating, and 1 entry earned a Good rating. 15 events qualified for State S&E MPA! We are so proud of all our students who prepared to perform. Thank you for putting in the extra effort to learn your music independently. If you qualified for State, please notify Mrs. Robinson if you intend to perform at State by this Tuesday. We will travel to A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts on Wednesday, March 20th or Thursday, March 21st. (We will go with the date that works best for Jazz Band 1 as they will also perform at State.) District Auxiliary MPA (Tues. 2/13): This year’s District Auxiliary MPA will be on Tuesday, February 13th at Palmetto Ridge High School. Our students are scheduled to perform from 4:00-6:30pm. Performances will start in the gym and conclude in the auditorium. Parents and students are welcome to come and watch the performances. There is no admission charge. Special thanks to our District 22 Chair and PRHS Administration for helping to reschedule this event.
