Congratulations to the Marching Pride on earning Straight Superior ratings at District Marching MPA! We’re so proud of our students, they’re really improving every week! Keep up the hard work! We want to thank all our band staff and parent volunteers who traveled with us to the Barron Collier High School for District MPA and for those who worked Friday night’s game. This week we are rehearsing on Wednesday and Thursday since Halloween is on Tuesday. Our Band Boosters are hosting their annual Trunk or Treat on Wednesday in the Faculty Parking Lot. On Friday, our school is holding a Pep Rally for the Battle of the Gate. Our auxiliary team will be performing a special routine! Call time for the band students will be 1:00pm and all band students should wear this year’s gray Marching Pride shirt. Friday night’s game is away at Golden Gate High School where our team will “Battle for the Gate.” On Saturday we are hosting our annual Marching Band Invitational. Make-up Assignments: All missed rehearsals and performances will require a make-up assignment. Instructions on how to request a make-up assignment are posted in Canvas under “Modules.” MBI Program Ads (Due by Sun. 10/29): The Band Boosters are selling program ads for our upcoming Marching Band Invitational (MBI). PRHS has hosted this competition for the past 19 years. All our fellow CCPS high school marching bands will come to compete with their drumlines and marching bands. Placing an ad can help promote your local business. Parents also like to purchase these ads to with their student good luck and congratulations. All ads must be submitted by Sunday, October 29th. Please contact Mrs. Robinson at [email protected] if you have any questions. Marching Pride Trunk or Treat (Wed. 11/1): Since Halloween is on a Tuesday this year, the Marching Pride will be rehearsing on Wednesday, November 1st. The Band Boosters will hold their annual Trunk or Treat after rehearsal starting at 8:00pm. There is no charge for students to participate. We’re looking for parents to participate by decorating their cars and passing out treats to the students. Thursday Rehearsal Attire (Thurs. 11/2): For this Thursday, band students will wear a black shirt with dark colored shorts. Auxiliary will wear their normal white on black. Away Game at Golden Gate HS (Fri. 11/3): This week’s game is away at Golden Gate High School. Healthy snack will be given at 3:30pm. Call time for students is 4:00pm. The band room will open after school for all Marching Pride students. Band students will wear full uniform with this year’s gray Marching Pride shirt, any athletic shorts, tall solid black socks, and marching band shoes. Auxiliary students will wear their pregame uniform, tights, black auxiliary shoes, earrings, and full hair and makeup. The Marching Pride will perform part of their show during halftime without props. The game starts at 7:00pm and tickets are available on gofan.co. Please be prepared to pick-up your student around 10:30pm. Students will text and call their rides when they leave GGHS and again when we get close to PRHS. Third Quarter Break (Fri. 11/3): All students will have the opportunity to visit the GGHS concession stand during their 3rd quarter break. Students will have to bring money to purchase their meals at GGHS. We advise that students have at least $10-15 in cash. Friday and Saturday Student Drop-off/Pick-up and Parking (Fri. 11/3): For Friday and please drop-off and pick-up your student in the main loop by the flagpole. Students will park in the Student Parking Lot on Friday and in the Faculty Parking Lot on Saturday. Thank you for your cooperation. Palmetto Ridge Marching Band Invitational (Sat. 11/4): We are hosting our annual Marching Band Invitational on Saturday, November 4th. We are hosting 6 drumlines and 7 marching bands at this year’s competition. This event is a major fundraiser for our program and we’re going on our 19th year of hosting it. Parents who are interested in volunteering for this event should contact Band Booster President, Ms. Eileen Fuentes at [email protected] and Band Booster Vice President, Mrs. Sandra Llorca at [email protected]. Alternate Travel Requests (Due by Wed. 11/1): If a parent needs to pick up their student from a band event, they must turn in Alternate Travel Request Form. Alternate Travel Requests are due to Mrs. Robinson THREE DAYS prior to departure and will require administrator approval. More information and instructions are provided on the form. State Send-Off Performance (Wed. 11/8): The Marching Pride will have their final rehearsal on Wednesday, November 8th. We will also have a State Send-Off Performance at 8:30pm for family and friends in Bear Stadium. We hope to see you there! FMBC Marching Band State Championships (Sat. 11/11): Thank Marching Pride is competing at State on Saturday, November 11th. To help cover the cost of transportation, all students will have to pay a fee of $25. This fee will be due by Wednesday, November 8th. Our prelim performance will be at Clearwater High School at 11:02am. Call time will be 4:30am. More details will be sent in a separate email. Concert Band Attire: (These uniforms are for all band students.) As marching band season comes to a close, we will start to transition into concert band and indoor season. All band students will need a concert band uniform. It is each band family’s responsibility to order and purchase these uniforms. All uniforms take at least 2 weeks to be shipped, please do not wait until the last minute. Concert gowns and pants will need to be hemmed, so please take that into consideration when placing your orders. Concert Band and Indoor Auxiliary After School Rehearsals: Indoor dance and guard practices will start the week of November 14th. Concert bands will have after school rehearsals when we return from Thanksgiving Break. Please refer to the band calendar for specific dates and times. Wind Symphony is 1st period band, Wind Ensemble is 3rd period band, and Symphonic Winds is 4th period band. Percussionists will be placed into a concert band the week of November 14th. All rehearsals are required and graded. Disney Band Trip Information: Thank you to everyone who registered for the Disney Band Trip. The next trip payment is due on Friday, November 17th. Roommate request forms are also due by Friday, November 17th. Those forms will be given out in class. On Saturday, the Marching Pride competed at the Riverview Tampa Bay Fall Games Competition. Our students had an amazing performance and placed 1st in Class 5A and won Grand Champion! They won all captions in Class 5A and Best Overall Music, Visual, General Effect and Best Overall Auxiliary. Congratulations! We are so proud of our Marching Pride!

Home Game vs. Desoto HS *Senior Night* (Fri. 10/27): This week’s game is at home against Desoto High School. This game is also our Senior Night! Call time for students is 5:00pm. The band room will be closed from 2:30-4:30pm. Band students will wear full uniform with this year’s gray Marching Pride shirt, any athletic shorts, tall solid black socks, and marching band shoes. Senior band students can choose to wear their freshman year green band t-shirt with the masked bear. Auxiliary students will wear their pregame uniform, tights, black auxiliary shoes, earrings, and full hair and makeup. The Marching Pride will recognize their seniors during halftime and then perform “A Whole New World” post-game. The game starts at 7:00pm and tickets are available on gofan.co. Please be prepared to pick-up your student around 10:30pm. Students will text and call their rides when they return to the band room at the end of the game. Game Day Student Drop-off and Pick-up (Fri. 10/27): For Friday, please drop-off your student in either the back of the school by the portables or in the bus loop. Game Day Student & Staff Parking (Fri. 10/27): All Marching Pride students, staff, and parent volunteers will park in the back parking lot by the portables for Friday night’s game. Stadium Clean-up (Fri. 10/27): This Friday, clean-up duty is assigned to all non-seniors. (No on had to stay after to clean the stands at the last home game.) Students will be provided with gloves when they return to the stadium. District Marching MPA (Sat. 10/28): Our District Marching MPA will be on Saturday, October 28th at Barron Collier High School. This is one of our biggest events of the season. Call time for students is 3:00pm at PRHS. Full details were sent via email.
