Thank you to everyone who came out to our Family Night Preview Performance! We look forward to seeing everyone again this Friday night at our first home game of the season! 
 
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser! The Band Boosters exceeded their goal by 164%! Our top sellers were Hunter Scott, Brianna Meske, Jayde Naas, Nehemiah Garza, Gabriel Melendez, Victor Chiatto, Amaya Strafford, Julian Guerra, Ivan Lopez, and Avery Williams! Great job everyone!!!
 
Here are last week’s Marchers and Section of the week. Honorable Mentions: Kendall Thomas (woodwinds), Alex Bonet (brass), Johnny Leveck (percussion), Lyzbeth Bautista-Santiago (auxiliary), Edith Garcia (officer). Marchers of the Week: Carmen Ledo (woodwinds), Abneris Garcia (brass), Christian Alvarez (percussion), Delaney Newton (auxiliary), Matt Ford (officer). The Section of the Week was the Clarinet Section led by Section Leaders Santiago Nieto, Enrique Arizmendi, and Laci Prue! Congratulations!
 
Here’s what you need to know for our upcoming events.

  • Band Trip Meeting, 6:30pm

  • Marching Band Rehearsal, 5:30-8:30pm
Thursday (8/18)
  • Connect for Success Begins
  • Officer Meeting, 5:00pm
  • Marching Band Rehearsal, 5:30-8:00pm
Friday (8/19)
  • Home Game vs. Sebring HS, Call 5:00pm
 
VERY IMPORTANT Band & Auxiliary Order Forms (Past Due): Please contact Mrs. Robinson if you still need to order shoes or duffle bags! Prices on shoes may vary for late orders. All new band students need to purchase a pair of marching band shoes. All new auxiliary students need to purchase a pair of black auxiliary shoes and a duffle bag. Please see the attached order forms for the list of items needed.
 
Make-up Assignments: All missed rehearsals and performances will require a make-up assignment. Instructions on how to request a make-up assignment are posted on Canvas.
 
2023 Band Trip Meeting (Mon. 8/15): We are holding an information meeting for this year’s band trip to Texas on Monday, August 15th in the auditorium. Check-in will begin at 6:30pm and the meeting will start close to 6:45pm. When you go to check-in at the front of the auditorium, a student volunteer will take your student’s name in exchange for the meeting handouts. Please check-in as a family. If you cannot attend the meeting, Mrs. Robinson can provide your student with the meeting handouts in class starting on Tuesday. Mrs. Robinson will also send out information through Cut Time email.  
 
Thursday Rehearsal Attire (Thurs. 8/18): We have a required practice attire for every Thursday night rehearsal. For this Thursday, band students will wear a black shirt (any shirt that is black) with dark colored shorts and auxiliary will wear a white shirt with black bottoms. The required practice attire helps when cleaning drill on the field.
 
Auxiliary Attire: Mrs. Robinson will be distributing the following items in auxiliary class this week: pregame tops, pregame leggings, tights, earrings. All returning students should already have their pregame tops and leggings. 
 
Home Game vs. Sebring HS (Fri. 8/19): Our first home game of this year is this Friday! Call time for students is 5:00pm. The band room will be closed from 2:30-4:30pm. Band students will wear this year’s green Marching Pride shirt, this year’s black marching band shorts, and dark colored gym shoes. Auxiliary students will wear this year’s black Mad World shirt, pregame leggings, tights, dark sneakers, earrings, and full hair and makeup. The game starts at 7:00pm and tickets are available on gofan.co. If you are not attending the game, please be prepared to pick-up your student around 10:00pm. Students will text and call their rides when they return to the band room at the end of the game.
 
PLEASE READ Student Pick-up and Drop-Off: There are still some parents who are dropping off and picking up in the Faculty Parking Lot. Please drop-off and pick-up your student in the main loop by the flagpole entrance of the school. Please do not use the faculty parking lot for pick-up, drop-off, or parking. Thank you for your cooperation.
 
Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music and Christman Music. Both vendors can drop off orders and pick-up instruments for repair at PRHS—but parents have to call to make arrangements ahead of time. Instruments will not be picked up unless orders for repair are placed ahead of time. 
 
Marching Pride Sponsors: We are reaching out to local businesses and contributors to the arts to help fund our program. Every gift matters and helps to provide our students with life-changing experiences. If you or a business you know of is interested in donating to the Marching Pride, please contact our Band Booster President Mr. Anthony Rowtie at [email protected] or Mrs. Robinson at [email protected].
