Congratulations to all of our students on a very successful Winterfest! Thank you for your hard work! We look forward to our next performance—hopefully, in the auditorium!

We’d especially like to thank our Band Boosters and parent volunteers for all of their help in decorating and running concessions and band swag. We’d like to recognize all of the parents and volunteers who helped this weekend:  Anthony Rowtie, Dana Rowtie, Eileen Fuentes, Wilfredo Figueroa, Miguel Font, Cary Rojas, William Kidder, William Freshwater, Sandra Llorca, Kristian Newton, Gretchen MacDonald, Marcella Restrepo, Tracy Olivo, Erika Guerra, Lana Curran, Brandon Laboa, Veronica Berens, and Mariela Font. Thank you all for supporting our students and program!

Just one week and then winter break!!!

This Week’s Schedule:

Tuesday (12/15)
  • Orchestra & Choir Winterfest in the auditorium, 6:30pm
Friday (12/18)
  • Jazz Band Performances at lunch

Music Masks & Bell Covers: Don’t lose your music mask or bell cover over winter break!!! All students are being reminded to take care of their music masks and bell covers. You will still need these for class and all performances after break. Students who are returning to in person learning in the second semester who did not do marching band season on campus, will be given a bell cover, but they will have to purchase a music mask for $15.

This week we are having our Winterfest concerts on Saturday, December 12th. Tickets will be on sale this week before and after school through Mrs. Robinson. Tickets will also be available upon arrival on Saturday. We hope to see you there!

This Week’s Schedule:

Tuesday (12/8)
  • Cheesecake Order Pick-up, 2:05-5:30pm
  • Winterfest Dress Rehearsal, 2:30-5:00pm
Thursday (12/10)
  • Winterfest Dress Rehearsal, 2:30-5:00pm
Saturday (12/12)
  • Winterfest Concerts, 5:00pm & 8:00pm (Call time for students is 4:00pm and 7:00pm)

After School Dress Rehearsals (Tues. 12/8 and Thurs. 12/10): These dress rehearsals are to help prepare for Winterfest. All band and auxiliary students are to attend. The only students who have to dress up for these dress rehearsals are auxiliary students. Band students can wear their regular school clothes to these rehearsals since their attire does not affect their performance abilities. These rehearsals will take place in the Faculty Parking Lot. Please drop off and pick-up up students by the flagpole.

Cheesecake Fundraiser Pick-up (Tues 12/8): All orders will be available for pick-up starting at 2:05pm until 5:30pm. Please make arrangements for your student to pick-up their order sometime after school. Please keep in mind that these cheesecakes come frozen, so it’s very important that all students pick-up and deliver their orders in a timely manner.

Music Masks: All students are being reminded to take care of their music masks. We have very few extras at this point. Please do not lose your masks as you will need them for all performances. Starting this week, all woodwind and brass students will be expected to wear their music masks in band class as much as possible.

Student Subway Dinner Purchase for Winterfest (Due Wed. 12/9): The Band Boosters are offering Subway dinners for the students to eat in between the Winterfest concerts. These meals are $6 and include a 6 inch sub, chips, drink and a cookie. Please place your orders ASAP through the link that was provided via email. All payments are due by this Wednesday, December 9th.  We are accepting exact cash, check, or money order.

Winterfest 2020 Information:
  • To accommodate our Marching Pride families, the band and auxiliary will have their Winterfest concerts on Saturday, December 12th in the Faculty Parking Lot.
  • We will have one concert at 5:00pm and a second concert at 8:00pm. Both concerts will be identical and all students will be required to perform at both concerts. The call times for students are 4:00pm and 7:00pm.
  • The concert will be about an hour in length.
  • The time in between concerts will allow for the students to have a break and eat dinner. It will also allow time for audience members to transition in and out of the area.
  • This concert will feature all concert bands, all jazz bands, auxiliary, percussion, and the Marching Pride.
  • Tickets can be purchased through Mrs. Robinson before or after school. Tickets are $5.00 and since the concert is in the parking lot, we’re asking families to BYOC—Bring Your Own Chair. We will have some chairs available for those who are not able to provide their own chairs, but lawn chair may be more comfortable.
  • The Band Boosters will be providing concessions at this concert and they will also sell band swag. Students will have the opportunity to purchase Subway meals for their break.
  • All spectators will be required to wear masks at the concert.
  • Parking will be in the student parking lot—the parking lot closest to the stadium. Please do not attempt to drive into the faculty parking lot and please do not park on the grass.
  • Spectators will enter the faculty parking lot through the designated area by the flag pole.
  • We will keep families socially distant by having them seated in the parking spaces. Please keep the aisles clear for the performers.
  • Concert attire for students: concert black or all black dress clothes. Students are allowed to wear holiday attire with their concert black. For example: Christmas sweaters, socks, Santa hats, etc.
  • Students are allowed and encouraged to decorate their instruments for this event. Please do not use scotch tape, duct tape, masking tape or packaging tape when decorating your instruments!
