Tomorrow we will begin our Virtual Band & Auxiliary classes on Canvas! Students don’t forget to log in to Canvas daily.

If you have any questions or issues with Canvas, please don’t hesitate to email Mrs. Robinson at [email protected].

We do have one recommendation when submitting your online assignments: All of the band and auxiliary assignments that require a response give students the option to respond via text on Canvas or you can upload a word document. We highly recommend doing your work on a word document that you can save on your hard drive and uploading the document when you make your submission. That way, if Canvas is acting up and your assignment doesn’t go through, you won’t lose your work. Again, this is only a recommendation.

School Owned Instrument Pick-Up (Moved to Wed. 4/1): Students who need to pick up their school owned instrument/flag/rifle will be allowed to pick up these items on Wednesday, April 1st from 9:00-11:00am. More information will be sent out via email.

2020-2021 Marching Pride Information Meeting (Date pending): This meeting will most likely be done as a webinar. We hope to have more information soon. Thank you for your patience.

Band Placement Auditions: Information is pending. Students will receive audition music on Canvas next week. Don’t forget that there’s always one part of the audition that never changes—SCALES!!!! (Everyone’s favorite!) So, don’t forget to practice those scales! The more you have memorized, the better!

Percussion, Auxiliary, and Officer Auditions: Information is pending. Thank you for your patience.

Band Banquet: Information is pending but regardless of what happens, all awards are being ordered and we will do our best to recognize our Marching Pride students in the best way possible.

At this point, we are still not allowing visitors into PRHS, so students are still not able to pick up their instruments or auxiliary equipment from their lockers. Everyone will be notified as soon as a plan is set into place. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Most of the information in this update is information that has already been sent out by the District. If you are not receiving this information from the District, please visit the CCPS Portal to make sure that your contact information is correct.

Last week the District sent out information on how students are to take part in online self-paced training for this coming week. These training sessions will help students prepare for their online learning, which will begin on March 30th. More information on student training can be found here: https://www.collierschools.com/elearns.

If you do not have online access to these learning pathways, hard copies of the instructions are available for student pick-up at all food distribution sites Monday through Friday between 9am-1pm. A full list of these pick-up locations can be found here: https://www.collierschools.com/Page/13751.

If your child needs a computer or Internet access to participate in online learning, you should have completed a survey sent out by the District. If you were not able to complete the survey or if you have any questions regarding the online learning, you can email [email protected].

If you’re feeling a little down or feeling a little “stir-crazy,” remember that there are many band parents (past and present) who are first responders or in the medical field. Let’s keep all of them in our thoughts and do what we can to help keep them and their family members safe and healthy.

As you all know, CCPS will be closed to all students Monday, March 16th through Friday, March 20th. In addition, all extracurricular activities (sports, clubs, music, drama, etc.) have been cancelled until April 12th. For the most accurate and updated information, please visit www.collierrschools.com.

While teachers are reporting to the building tomorrow, we want to clarify that all students and non-CCPS employed parents will not be allowed into the building, per PRHS administration. If there’s something that you left in your band locker or anywhere else in the building, you won’t be allowed in to pick it up. We apologize for the inconvenience.

State Jazz and Solo & Ensemble MPA, Thurs. 3/26
Sabel Palm Elementary FSA Pep Rally, Fri. 3/27

Collier Fair is closed March 16th through March 19th
All after school practices are cancelled until April 12th
