This week Wind Ensemble has their Pre-MPA on Tuesday, the Band Boosters are hosting a Spirit Night at IL Primo on Wednesday, and our Dance Team is going to the Fusion Dance Competition on Sunday morning! Please see below for more details.
We’d like to take a moment to congratulate our Head Chaperone, Ms. Eileen Fuentes on being selected as a Golden Apple recipient! We were so proud to hear of the news!
We are also proud to have two additional band parents and a Palmetto Ridge teacher who were also recognized as 2019-2020 Teachers of Distinction: Mrs. Ysela Quintana, Mrs. Kimberley Kirtman, and Sergeant James Washington! Congratulations to all of you on your accomplishments and thank you for all you do for our CCPS students!
This Week’s Schedule:
CCPS Concert Pre-MPA (Tues. 2/18): The Wind Ensemble will have their Pre-MPA at Gulf Coast High School this Tuesday. Call time is 4:00pm. Students should arrive dressed in their concert attire. Students also need to eat before arriving at 4:00pm. Warm-up is at 5:30pm, the performance is at 6:00pm. Following the performance, the band will have a clinic with Mr. Rodester Brandon, and then listen to three other performing bands. We will return to Palmetto Ridge at approximately 9:00pm.
IL Primo Spirit Night (Wed. 2/19): The Band Boosters are holding a Spirit Night at Pebblebrook IL Primo on Wednesday, February 19th. The Spirit Night will run from open to close, but please be sure to mention the Palmetto Ridge Marching Pride! Customers much mention the Marching Pride in order for a portion of their payment to go towards the program. Please help spread the word!
Fusion Dance Competition (Sun. 2/23): The Dance Team will travel to South Fort Myers High School for the Fusion Dance Competition. Call time is 5:45am. All students are reminded to bring money for lunch. Students will travel to and from the competition via school bus. Alternate travel forms are due by this Wednesday.
Mid-Year Band Concert (Wed. 2/26): The Mid-Year Band Concert will feature all three concert bands and both jazz bands. This is an opportunity for parents to see what these groups have been preparing for MPA. Admission is free. Call time for students is 6:00pm. The concert will start at 7:00pm in the auditorium. All students are required to wear their assigned Concert Band Attire. Students who are missing any part of their attire will not be allowed to perform on stage.
Concert Attire (PAST DUE): All band students are reminded that they must have their required concert attire for the upcoming MPAs: Jazz MPA and Concert MPA. Information on how to order your attire can be found at the following link: https://www.prhsbands.org/uploads/1/0/7/8/107847845/concert_attire.pdf Please be aware that these uniforms have to be hemmed once received.
State Jazz and Solo & Ensemble MPA (Thurs. 3/26): Jazz Band 1 and all students who have qualified for State Solo & Ensemble MPA will travel to Cooper City High School on Thursday, March 26th. All students who have qualified for State S&E MPA need to commit to the event by Tuesday this week.
State Auxiliary MPA (Thurs. 4/2): Our auxiliary groups and soloists will have their State MPA at Palmetto Ridge High School on Thursday, April 2nd. Student soloists who have qualified for State will need to commit to this event by Tuesday this week.
