What a great first game of the season! The Bears won 7-0 against South Fort Myers and the Marching Pride had an outstanding performance on the field! This week we plan on adding more drill to the show and hopefully introducing some of the field props!

We’d like to thank all of our parents and students who gave their time to help at Publix this weekend, and a very special thank you to Mrs. Cary Rojas for organizing the fundraiser!
This week we have our Band Trip Meeting on Monday at 6:30pm in the auditorium, followed by a Make-up Parent Volunteer Training for Concessions at 7:30pm. This Friday’s game is another home game and we plan on premiering our new band and auxiliary uniforms!
This Week’s Schedule:
Disney Band Trip Meeting (Mon. 8/19): Our first trip meeting will be at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Check-in will start at 6:00pm. Please check-in at the front of the auditorium to pick up the meeting packet. Interested parents and students are strongly recommended to attend. If you’re not able to make the meeting, the information will be sent out via email and you will be responsible for understanding the deadlines and requirements.
Make-up Parent Volunteer Training for Concessions (Mon. 8/19): All parents interested in volunteering with concessions must complete a required training test. The training process takes approximately 30 minutes. We will hold a make-up training session on Monday after the Band Trip meeting around 7:30pm.
Marching Band After School Rehearsals (Tues. 8/20 & Thurs. 8/22): Please refer to the PRHS Bands Calendar for all dates. Please take note, we have a Saturday rehearsal scheduled on September 14 from 9:00am-4:00pm. All after school rehearsals are graded. Students who miss rehearsal may be suspended from upcoming performances.
Palmetto Elementary Pep Rally (Fri. 8/23): Palmetto Elementary has invited the Marching Pride to perform at their Pep Rally this Friday. Unfortunately, we cannot take everyone and we can only take one bus. Students were selected based on officer position rank, instrumentation needs, and then seniority. A roster of students who were selected to attend is posted in the band room. Call time will be 7:45am in the band room. Band students will wear this year’s white band t-shirt, this year’s green marching band shorts, short socks, and dark athletic shoes. Auxiliary students will wear this year’s white band t-shirt, black shorts, tights, and black auxiliary shoes. We will return to PRHS around 9:30am. Please speak with your 1st, 2nd, and 3rdperiod teachers.
Home Game vs. Tampa Catholic HS (Fri. 8/23): The call time for all students is 4:30pm. We will be in full uniform this week. All band students will wear this year’s white band t-shirt, this year’s green marching band shorts, tall solid black socks, and marching band shoes. All auxiliary students will wear this year’s pregame uniform, tights, and their black outdoor auxiliary shoes. (Auxiliary will receive their pregame uniform in class this week. Band students who ordered and paid for their shoes, will receive their marching band shoes in class this week.)
2019-2020 Marching Pride Swag: Marching Pride water bottles will be available for purchase during lunch in the band room for $15. The rest of our swag is now available for viewing at https://www.prhsbands.org/marching-pride-swag.html. The order form is available online and in the band room. Orders will be collected in the “Band Booster Box” located in the band room.
All-State Auditions (Sat. 9/21): All State Auditions will be on Saturday, September 21st at Golden Gate Middle School. Students interested in auditioning must complete their pre-audition with Mrs. Robinson on Monday, August 19th. The sign-up sheet is in the band room.
Coupon Book Fundraiser (Due Tues. 8/27): The PRHS Band Boosters are selling coupon books for $20. Each student is expected to sell one book. Profits from any book sold after the initial two can go towards this year’s Band Trip to Disney. Order forms are available in the band room.
