Weekly Update

I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! These next 4 weeks are going to fly, so please check your calendars so you’re up to date with our upcoming events. We have All County Honor Band Auditions this Tuesday and then the Ave Maria Hometown Holiday Parade this Friday.

Congratulations to both jazz bands on a successful performance at Third St. South. While the students weren’t impressed with the “snow,” everyone was impressed with the performance! Jazz 1 will be performing this Friday night at Ave Maria after the parade from 6:00-9:00pm.

We have a special surprise for the students! All students are asked to stop by the band room at 7:00am for a special reveal!

All County Honor Band Auditions (Tues. 11/27): The PRHS Bands is hosting the All County Honor Band Auditions on Tuesday, November 27th. Parent volunteers are needed from 3:00-9:30pm. Please email Mrs. Robinson at [email protected]if you’re able to help out. Student volunteers will be needed from 1:30-9:00pm. Student volunteer sign-ups will be available in the band room.

Concession Stand Clean Up (Tues. 11/27): The Band Boosters will be cleaning the concession stand area this Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00pm. Any students or parents willing to help out are asked to contact Mr. Buddy Rainey at [email protected].

Thursday Full Marching Band Parade Rehearsal (Thurs. 11/29): The Marching Pride will have their only parade rehearsal this Thursday from 2:30-4:00pm. All students are expected to attend. We will be rehearsing for our upcoming community parades.

Ave Maria Celebration of Lights (Fri. 11/30): The Marching Pride is performing at the Ave Maria’s Town Center Parade on Friday, November 30th. Call time will be 3:30pm. The band will be wearing full marching band uniform with their green band t-shirt, marching band shorts, black socks and marching band shoes. Auxiliary will wear their pregame uniform Auxiliary students should have their auxiliary jackets ready to wear.

Chicago Band Trip Belongings on the Trailer: A few students still haven’t picked up their belongings from the Chicago Trip. Please make sure that you take these items home Monday after school.

After School Concert Band Rehearsals: Concert Band after school rehearsals will start next week!

The Marching Pride had a wonderful weekend trip at Chicago! A few highlights from the trip include seeing Hamilton on Friday, getting to play in the snow Saturday morning, marching in the cold down Michigan Ave., and getting to visit the top of the Willis/Sears Tower! Our students did an amazing job representing Palmetto Ridge High School and had a great performance! We’d especially like to thank our incredible parent chaperones and truck crew! We’re so lucky to have so many hardworking and dedicated parents who genuinely care for the students in our program. Thank you for supporting the Marching Pride! Go Palmetto!!!!

We have a pretty short week with only two days before our Thanksgiving Break. Just a reminder, all students who went on the Chicago Band Trip are excused from periods 1, 2, and 3 for tomorrow.

Third St. South (Mon. 11/19): Both Jazz Bands will be performing at Third. St. South on Monday, November 19th. Call time is 3:00pm dressed in your jazz band attire. Estimated return time to PRHS is 10:00pm. Please stop by downtown Naples to support the Jazz Band!

Chicago Band Trip Belongings on the Trailer: The trailer will be returning to the school on Monday evening. We will unload the trailer on Tuesday during class. Students are asked to please pick up their toiletries, uniform parts, and souvenirs on Tuesday after school.

After School Band Rehearsals: Concert Band after school rehearsals will start in December. We will have one full band parade rehearsal on Thursday, November 29th from 2:30-4:00pm. Please refer to the band calendar for specific dates.

We have our Chicago Band Trip this coming weekend! It’s hard to believe it’s almost here. As of today (according to weather bug), the forecast for Friday in Chicago is mostly cloudy, chance of light rain and snow in the morning, highs around 40, lows in the mid 20s…

After School Band Rehearsals: Concert Band after school rehearsals will start in December. We will have one full band parade rehearsal on Thursday, November 29th from 2:30-4:00pm. Please refer to the band calendar for specific dates.

Chicago Band Trip Rehearsal (Tues. 11/13): We are having our final rehearsal this Tuesday, November 13th from 2:30-4:30pm. All students attending the band trip are required to attend all rehearsals as we prepare for Chicago. After the rehearsal, we will load our instruments on to the trailer. A separate email will be sent out discussing items that are due this week for the Chicago Trip.

Chicago Band Trip Chaperone Meeting (Tues. 11/13): We will have a brief meeting with all chaperones attending the Chicago Band Trip at 6:30pm in the Percussion Room.

Third St. South (Mon. 11/19): Both Jazz Bands will be performing at Third. St. South on Monday, November 19th. Call time is 3:00pm dressed in your jazz band attire. Estimated return time to PRHS is 10:00pm.
