Hopefully, everyone had a restful break. This week we have State Solo & Ensemble and State Jazz MPA at American Heritage School. Auxiliary also has their dress rehearsals this week in preparation for their State MPA, which is next week.


Thank you to everyone who participated in our Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser. The fundraiser was a success! Also, thank you to all of our volunteers who have been helping out with the Stroller Rental for the County Fair. Our drumline will be performing at the fair this Friday.


Over the break our Varsity Guard and Dance Team both competed in competition. Our Varsity Guard won 3rd place in Class AA at the FFCC Competition on Saturday, March 12th. Our Dance Team earned an Elite High Gold rating and the Judges’ Award with their Lyrical routine and a Platinum rating, 3rd place, and the Choreography Award with their Contemporary routine. Congratulations to both teams! We’re so proud of all of you and look forward to seeing your performances at State!

State Solo & Ensemble and State Jazz MPA (Tues. 3/22): Jazz Band 1 and other select students will be traveling to the American Heritage School in Broward County. Call time is 5:45am. Students should be dressed in their concert attire, and they need to bring money for lunch and dinner. Students will eat lunch at the concession stand provided by the American Heritage School, and we will stop at the Saw Grass Mall for dinner. The approximate return to PRHS is 7:30pm. The Solo & Ensemble schedule is posted in the Band Room. All students will accompanists are reminded to inform their accompanists of their performance time. 


State Auxiliary MPA (Tues. 3/29): Palmetto Ridge is hosting State Auxiliary MPA in the gym on Tuesday, March 29th. The schedule has not yet been released.


April Fundraisers: The Band Boosters are hosting several fundraisers in April. The funds from these fundraisers will help to cover the travel expenses for our upcoming State events and our Awards Banquet, which will be held on Saturday, May 14th. The upcoming fundraisers are listed below. Please save the dates and come out to support the Marching Pride. (The Tri-M Spirit Night fundraiser funds will be used towards the cost of Tri-M awards and graduation cords for our Tri-M seniors).


2022-2023 Marching Pride Information Meeting (Mon. 4/11): Our information meeting for the next Marching Pride season will be on Monday, April 11th in the auditorium. Check-in will begin at 6:15pm and the meeting will begin at 6:30pm. This meeting is for all new and returning members for the 2022-2023 season. Please help to spread the word and save the date!


Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music (239) 275-6262 and Christman Music (239) 254-8863. If needed, please be sure to get your instrument fixed and have all your needed supplies. Both Christman Music and Cadence Music are now visiting on Wednesdays.
