Congratulations to Nikolai Coletta, Eric Robinson and Benjamin Southwick on an outstanding job at State Solo & Ensemble MPA. These students performed their solos at John I. Leonard High School last Tuesday. Nikolai earned a Superior with Distinction on his solo, Eric earned a Superior with Distinction on his solo and Benjamin earned an Excellent rating on his solo.
 
A very special thanks to all of our parents and students who came out to work the Band Booster Stroller Rental Tent at the Collier County Fair. Our fundraiser was very successful thanks to your help and hard work!
 
The PRHS Bands will be hosting Pre-MPA for the concert bands from Cypress Palm Middle, Corkscrew Middle and Immokalee Middle on Monday, March 26th. The event will start at 6:00pm in the PRHS Auditorium.
 
We look forward to seeing all 4 auxiliary groups perform at State MPA on Wednesday, March 28th, which is hosted here at Palmetto Ridge High School. The event will start at 8:00am and run till about 7:15pm in the gymnasium.

Middle School Pre-MPA: The PRHS Bands are hosting Pre-MPA for Corkscrew MS, Cypress Palm MS, and Immokalee MS on Monday, March 26th in the auditorium. Student volunteers should report to the band room at 4:30pm. Please wear a band t-shirt. The event will begin at 6:00pm. Student volunteers will be needed till about 7:30pm. All parents and students are invited to come out and support our middle school bands as they prepare for their upcoming MPA performances. Free admission.
 
 
State Auxiliary MPA: The PRHS Bands are hosting State Auxiliary MPA on Wednesday, March 28th in the gymnasium. Student volunteers are needed throughout the day, please sign-up in the band room. Student volunteers are still needed from 4:00-7:15pm. Parent volunteers are still needed throughout the day. The PRHS Auxiliary students will be performing between 5:24-7:15pm. All parents and students are encouraged to attend--however, students will not be excused from class to attend this event! Free admission.
 
 
Auxiliary After School Practices: Starting on Tuesday, April 3rd, all auxiliary after school practices will be combined. All auxiliary students will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm. **These changes start on Tuesday, April 3rd!!!
 
 
Wind Ensemble After School Rehearsals: Wind Ensemble will continue after school rehearsals on Tuesday, April 10th. After school rehearsals will be on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45pm.
 
 
2018-2019 Marching Pride Informational Meeting: The 2018-2019 Marching Pride Information Meeting will be on Tuesday, April 3rd. This meeting will be for all new and returning students and parents who are interested in joining the band next season. Student volunteers will be needed for this event. Sign-up sheets will be posted in the band room. We hope to see you there!
 
 
2018-2019 Band Camp Dates: Band Camp 2018 will be Monday, July 30th through August 3rd 8:00am-4:00pm and  Monday, August 6th and Tuesday, August 7th 8:00am-4:00pm and Wednesday, August 8th through August 10th 1:00-8:30pm. Please save the dates!

  • The next Band Booster Meeting will be on Monday, April 2nd.
  • Middle School Concert Band MPA will be hosted at PRHS on Thursday, April 5th. This event will feature bands from Collier County and Lee County. The event still will start at 2:00pm and end around 8:00pm. Student volunteers will be needed to help run the event. Parent volunteers will be needed to help run concessions. Mrs. Robinson will have a sign-up sheet available in the band room.
 
 
Upcoming Fundraisers: 
 
  • Krispy Kreme Donuts (Monday 4/9 through Friday 4/13): The Band Boosters will be selling Krispy Kreme Donuts. All band students are expected to sell at least one box. Students who did not participate in the Yankee Candle Fundraiser will be expected to sell at least 2 boxes.
 
 
Parent Volunteers Needed:

Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope you were all able to get some rest and spend time with your families.
 
Before Spring Break, our concert bands all completed their District MPA performances. Wind Ensemble earned an overall Superior rating and Wind Symphony, Symphonic Winds, and Symphonic Band all earned Excellent ratings. Congratulations to all!
 
On Saturday, March 10th, our Varsity Guard completed their competitive season earning an Excellent rating at the FFCC Competition in Durant. Congratulations to the Varsity Guard and their coach Lindsay Greer!
 
On Sunday, March 11th, our Competitive Dance team competed at the Bravo Dance Competiions where they received a Elite high gold for both dances "Labels" and "Praying".
Labels took overall third && praying took first place. Labels also received a special award chosen by the judges: "The Movement with Meaning" award. Congratulation to our Competitive Dance Team and their coach Annamarie Magdaleno!
 
We look forward to seeing all 4 auxiliary groups perform at State MPA on Wednesday, March 28th, which is hosted here at Palmetto Ridge High School.

State Solo & Ensemble MPA: State S&E MPA performances will be on Tuesday, March 20th at John I. Leonard High School. The address is 4701 10th Avenue North, Greenacres, FL 33463.  Performances times are posted in the band room as well as on Twitter and Facebook. Students will be providing their own transportation to this event. Students are also expected to transport their own instruments. Mrs. Robinson will only be able to transport percussion instruments in her vehicle.
 
 
Star Quest Dance Competition: Competitive Dance will have their final competition at the Omni Auditorium at Broward College North Campus. The address is 1050 Coconut Creek Blvd. Coconut Creek, FL 33066. Students will be providing their own transportation to this event. Call time is 1:30pm at Broward College.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the concert and jazz bands at the Winter Band Concert last Thursday! All bands performed well and we were looking forward to having all of our concert bands perform at District MPA this week!

Band Booster Meeting: There will be no Band Booster meeting this week. The next Band Booster Meeting will be next month in April.
 
 
Band Dress Rehearsals: The concert band dress rehearsals this week will be in the band room. Students must be in attendance in order to perform in the District MPA performances this week. Students do not need to wear their concert attire for these rehearsals. 
 
 
District Concert Band MPA: District Concert Band MPA performances will be on Wednesday, March 7th for Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony. Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble will be performing on Thursday, March 8th.
  • Symphonic Band (Wed. 3/7) Call 2:30pm, Performance 4:00pm
  • Wind Symphony (Wed. 3/7) Call 5:00pm, Performance 7:00pm

  • Collier County Fair (Thursday 3/15 through Sunday 3/25): The Band Boosters will be renting wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs at the County Fair. We are in need of at least two people minimum per shift. If you are able to help out at the rental tent during the fair, please contact Mr. Buddy Rainey at [email protected] or 239-404-9134.
