Last week was an amazing week for the Marching Pride! Thank you to all our parents who came out to help at the Naples Christmas Parade and thank you to those who helped to work this year’s Winterfest! Our students did an outstanding job at Winterfest. Thank you to all who came out to support our Music Department.
On Monday, our Band Boosters are hosting a Spirit Night at the Culver’s on Immokalee Rd. from 5:00-8:00pm. Our jazz bands and drumline will be performing. We hope to see you there! Tri-M Music Honors Society is selling Holiday Music Grams in the band room during lunch on Monday through Wednesday. Music grams are $5 and will be delivered to classes on Friday, December 15th during 2nd and 3rd period. Band Picture Day is on Tuesday. Students will have their pictures taken during class. Jazz 2 will be performing in the courtyard during lunch on Thursday and Jazz 1 will be performing in the courtyard during lunch on Friday. For the Musicians and Performers of the Week, we wanted to recognize all the students who put in the extra effort to prepare extra music/routines for this year’s Winterfest. Make-up Assignments: All missed rehearsals and performances will require a make-up assignment. Instructions on how to request a make-up assignment are posted in Canvas under “Modules.” Request for Students Who Are In Multiple School Activities: Last week students did a great job communicating their conflicts with Mrs. Robinson and Mr. Claro. Please continue to have good communication when there are conflicts between band and your other school activities. Tri-M Music Honors Society Holiday Music Grams (Fri. 12/15): Our Tri-M musicians will be delivering Holiday Music Grams during 2nd and 3rd period on Friday, December 15th. Music grams can be purchased during lunch in the band room on Monday through Wednesday this week. Music grams are $5. Help spread holiday cheer and send a music gram to a friend! Culver’s Spirit Night (Tues. 12/5): The PRHS Band Boosters are hosting a Spirit Night at the Culver’s on Immokalee Rd. from 5:00-8:00pm. Please stop by at Culver’s during this time as a portion of your bill will be donated to the PRHS Band Boosters. Our jazz bands and drumline will perform at Culvers. Call time for students is 4:30pm. These students should arrive wearing a PRHS t-shirt or jacket with neutral-colored bottoms and gym shoes. Large instruments will be transported to Culvers on the trailer. Band Picture Day (Tues. 12/12): Band pictures will be on Tuesday, December 12th during class. There is no make-up day, so please do your best to be in class on 12/12. Band students should wear clothes that can fit underneath their marching band uniform. (No long sleeves and no baggy clothes.) We recommend that all band students wear their hair down or at least half up for these pictures. Students will need their gloves and instrument, but they do not need their marching band shoes or hats. Auxiliary students will wear their WNW show uniform. Hair needs to be styled down and they will need their earrings. They will choose their own make-up. Dance students will pose with silver poms, weapon line will need their rifles, and flag line will use their Part 1 flag. Parents can order pictures online at www.pdiportraits.com. All online orders received by picture day will receive a FREE 2024 photo calendar. Jazz Band Lunch Performances (Thurs. 12/14 and Fri. 12/15): Jazz Band 2 will perform in the courtyard on Thursday, December 14th during lunch and Jazz Band 1 will perform in the courtyard on Friday, December 15th during lunch. All students will go to their 5th period class and leave at 11:30am. Performances will start at 11:45am and end at 12:15pm. Students will tear down and eat lunch during 6th period. Students will wear a PRHS Band t-shirt or jacket with neutral colored bottoms and gym shoes. Disney Trip Required Forms (Due Fri. 12/15): Please be sure to turn in the required forms for the trip: Student Travel Authorization Form, CCPS Activity Release Form, and the Band Trip Behavior Contract.
