Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Spirit Night at Culver’s last Wednesday! 
 
We’d like to wish all of the students who are participating in the PRHS Talent Show this week!
 
This is what we have coming up this week.
 
 
This Week’s Schedule:

  • Varsity Guard Camp, 5:00-9:00pm 
 
 
District Jazz Band MPA (Mon. 2/3): PRHS is hosting the District 18 Jazz MPA on Monday, February 3rd. Student and parent volunteers will be needed to run the event from 2:00-9:30pm. Jazz 2 will perform at 4:30pm and Jazz 1 will perform at 8:30pm. The event will be held in the auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. 
 
 
District Band Solo & Ensemble MPA (Fri. 2/7 and Sat. 2/8): All students who have signed up for a solo or ensemble are reminded to continue to prepare their music. Performance times will be posted in the band room. Students who drop out of their event will be charged $10. District Solo & Ensemble will be hosted at Lehigh Senior High School. All band students are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from Lehigh Senior High School. 
 
 
District Auxiliary MPA (Sat. 2/8): Auxiliary will travel to Fort Myers High School for their District MPA. Call time is 9:30am. All students will travel via school bus to and from the event. Alternate travel forms are due by next week Wednesday. Performances will start at Fort Myers at 11:45am in the auditorium. The event is open to the public for those who wish to support our team. 
 
 
Auxiliary Solos: All auxiliary students are reminded that they are all required to prepare a solo for the week of MPA. Their next performance exam will take place this Thursday. All students will be required to perform their entire solo at a minimum of 1:45. All auxiliary groups will perform their routines in class on Friday in uniform. 
 
 
Concert Attire (Past Due): All band students are reminded that they must have their required concert attire for the upcoming MPAs: Jazz MPA and Concert MPA. Indoor Auxiliary Fees (Past Due): Please turn in your payments at your earliest convenience. Indoor uniforms will be issued until fees are paid in full. 
 
 
Marching Band Fees (Past Due): Families who are on a payment plan are reminded to continue their monthly payments until their marching band fees are paid in full.

Congratulations to the following students who represented Palmetto Ridge High School in the Collier County Honor Band: Danillo Andrade, Shelby Blocker, Ellie Carvajal, Nikolai Coletta, Sonia Lountchenko, Leonel Pena, Eric Robinson, Zachary Seymour, and Savannah Stiehl. The 79-piece High School Honor Band was conducted by Dr. Kyle Prescott, the Director of Bands from Florida Atlantic University. During their time with Dr. Prescott, the students had the opportunity to meet two composers of two pieces they were preparing for their concert. We had a great weekend of music making. Thank you to all who came out to support the students during their concert.

After School Concert Band Rehearsals: After school band rehearsals will start this week. Please also be sure to know which concert band you are assigned to. Wind Symphony (2nd period) will practice on Wednesday, Symphonic Winds (3rd period) will practice on Tuesday, and Wind Ensemble (4th period) will practice on Thursday. These rehearsals are graded and required. Students with school related conflicts need to speak with Mrs. Robinson concerning their conflicts. 
 
 
After School JV Guard Practices: To help prepare for our upcoming MPA performance, we are adding 3 Thursday after school practices and one Saturday Camp for the JV Guard. The Thursday rehearsals will be on the following dates from 6:30-8:30pm: 1/23, 1/30, and 2/6. The Saturday Camp will be from 12:00-4:00pm on 1/25. 
 
 
Culver’s Spirit Night (Wed. 1/22): The Band Boosters are holding their monthly Culver’s Spirit Night this Wednesday. Please invite everyone you know to stop by Culver’s from 5:00-8:00pm as a portion of all sales during that time period will go towards the PRHS Band Boosters.

Congratulations Nikolai Coletta for representing Palmetto Ridge High School in the FMEA All-State Honors Band! Nikolai was chosen from hundreds of students throughout the state to perform in the Honors Band and is the first PRHS band student to represent our program in at least six years! 
 
This weekend is the Collier County Honor Band Concert. We have nine students representing the PRHS Band Program. Please consider coming out to their concert this Saturday at Gulf Coast High School at 3:00pm.

  • All County Honor Band Rehearsal, 6:00-9:00pm at GCHS (select students)

  • All County Honor Band Rehearsal, 9:00am-4:00pm at GCHS (select students)
Saturday (1/18)
  • All County Honor Band Rehearsal, 9:00-11:00am at GCHS (select students)
  • All County Honor Band Concert, 3:00pm at GCHS
 
 
Band Booster Meeting (Mon. 1/13): The Band Boosters are holding their monthly meeting this Monday at 7:30pm in the Band Room. All parents are encouraged to attend. 
 
 
All County Honor Band: All students in All County Honor Band are reminded to prepare their music and check their rehearsal schedules. Rehearsals are this week Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Concert attire is needed for this Saturday’s Concert. Please come out to support the CCPS Honor Bands. The concert will start at 3:00pm at Gulf Coast High School. Admission is free.
