We are pre-selling tickets this week for next week’s Rhythm of the Pride Recital. Tickets can be purchased before or after school for $5. Tickets will be sold at the door for $7. Here's what you need to know for our upcoming events. This Week’s Schedule: Monday (4/10)
Percussion Auditions (Tues. 4/11, Wed. 4/12, Thurs. 4/13): Percussion auditions for next year’s drumline and front ensemble are this week Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm. Students should bring a pair of sticks, a practice pad, water, and gym shoes. The registration link provided on the flyer will close at 2:00pm on Tuesday, 4/11. Students can register at: https://forms.gle/Xu28xvuGMBwu94jYA Rhythm of the Pride Recital (Tues. 4/18): Our Auxiliary and Percussion students are having their annual end of the year recital next week Tuesday, April 18th at 6:30pm. This recital will also feature our Dancing Cubs. We will pre-sell the tickets starting this week Tuesday before and after school for $5 each. Otherwise, tickets will be available at the door for $7. The last day to purchase pre-sold tickets at $5 is Monday, April 17th. All participating students will have their dress rehearsal on Monday, 4/17 from 2:30-6:00pm. State Concert Band MPA (Fri. 4/21): State Concert Band MPA for Wind Ensemble will be on Friday, April 21st at Broward College Central in Davie, FL. Wind Ensemble is scheduled to perform at 8:00pm. Call time will be 4:00pm. We will be traveling to and from Broward College Central via school bus. Students will have the option to purchase a healthy snack meal for this trip. We will not be able to make any stops for dinner. Students who do not wish to purchase a healthy snack meal will have to pack their own dinner. The last day to purchase a healthy snack meal will be Tuesday, April 18th. Dancing Cubs: Our Auxiliary Team is inviting students in grades K-8 to come dance as a Dancing Cub at this year’s Rhythm of the Pride Recital. Please see the attached flyer for more information. The first practice is on Tuesday, April 11th from 4:30-5:30pm. Auxiliary Auditions (Mon. 5/1, Tues. 5/2, Fri. 5/3): Auxiliary auditions for next year’s auxiliary team are in May on the dates provided. The registration link provided on the flyer will close at 10:00pm on Sunday, 4/31. Students can register at: https://forms.gle/bpwbwTuxZJcwiKzLA. Please help spread the word to prospective new members. The audition flyer is attached to this email. Band Booster Senior Scholarships (Due Thurs. 5/4): This year our Band Boosters are offering 2 senior scholarship awards, the Daileen Alfonso Scholarship Award, and the Julie Ann Johnson Scholarship Award. These awards will be presented at the Band Awards Banquet on Saturday, May 13th. Students who are interested in applying must complete the online application and essay by Thursday, May 4th. More information can be found on the band website under the “Students” tab. https://www.prhsbands.org/prhs-band-booster-senior-scholarships.html Drum Major Auditions & Officer Applications (Applications due Fri. 5/5): Students who are interested in applying for an officer position for next year will have to sign-up to join the Marching Pride Officer Canvas Page. Mrs. Robinson will collect ID numbers in class this week and send students an invite by the end of the week. This Canvas Page is the only way students can access and turn in applications and contracts. Please contact Mrs. Robinson for more information. 2023-2024 Marching Pride Commitment Forms & Fees (Due Mon. 5/15): Commitment Forms and Fees for next year are due by Monday, May 15th. Please help to spread the word to new members. Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music and Christman Music. Both vendors can drop off orders and pick-up instruments for repair at PRHS—but parents must call to make arrangements ahead of time. Instruments will not be picked up unless orders for repair are placed ahead of time. We have a lot going on this week. On Monday we’re holding our 2023-2024 Marching Pride Information Meeting. This meeting is for new and returning members. Please be sure to register ahead of time. More information is provided below.
On Tuesday, Wind Ensemble will have their first after school rehearsal to prepare for State MPA. Band Picture Day is on Wednesday during class. Please be sure to order your pictures ahead of time. Attire for pictures is specified below. We hope seniors had fun at last week’s Grad Bash! We also hope that our upper class men have a great time at Prom Thursday night! 2023-2024 Marching Pride Information Meeting (Mon. 4/3): We’re holding our annual Marching Pride Information Meeting on Monday, April 3rd. Check-in will start at 6:00pm and the meeting will start at 6:30pm. This meeting is for new AND returning members of the Marching Pride. Please help to spread the word to new prospective members. Please be sure to register for the meeting at https://forms.gle/H1ZTuGuS3rC85xr59. Registering for the meeting will save you time! Also, if you can’t make the meeting, please provide us with your information through the registration link. This way, Mrs. Robinson will know to send you the meeting information. Band Picture Day (Wed. 4/5): Band Picture Day will be on Wednesday, April 5th. All students will have their pictures taken in their marching band uniforms during class. Band students will wear clothes that can fit underneath their band uniform and hair will be styled down. Students will need marching band shoes, gloves, or hats for the pictures. Auxiliary students will wear their Mad World uniform, hair will be styled down and they can choose their own make-up. There is no cost to have your picture taken. Order forms are available in the band room.
