I hope you all enjoyed your 3-day weekend. We have our first away football game this week, which is followed by another 3-day weekend!

This Week’s Schedule:
 
Monday (9/3) 
  • No School, Labor Day
Tuesday (9/4)
  • Marching Band Rehearsal, 5:30-8:30pm
  • Band Swag Pick-up and Orders, 8:30-9:00pm
Wednesday (9/5)
  • Band Booster Meeting, 7:00pm (Band Room)
Thursday (9/6)
  • Officer Meeting, 4:30pm
  • Marching Band Rehearsal, 5:30-8:30pm 
Friday (9/7)
  • Healthy Snack, 3:30pm 
  • Away Game vs. North Fort Myers, Call 4:00pm
 
 
Cheesecake Trip Fundraiser (Due Tues. 9/11): This fundraiser is completely optional. Students have the opportunity to raise money towards their Chicago Band Trip. 40% of all profits will go towards their trip. All students may participate in this fundraiser. All profits that are not used towards the Chicago Trip will turn into general donations to the PRHS Bands. Orders are due by Tuesday, September 11th. 
 
 
Band Booster Meeting (Wed. 9/5): Our Band Boosters will have their first meeting of the year in the band room this Wednesday at 7:00pm. All parents are encouraged to attend. Please use the side door entrance by the auditorium loading dock. 
 
 
Officer Meeting (Thurs. 9/6): We will have an Officer Meeting this Thursday at 4:30pm in the Percussion Room. All officers are asked to attend. 
 
 
Thursday Band Practice Attire: This Thursday’s band attire is gray shirt and black shorts. Students are being reminded to follow the school dress code policy when attending after school rehearsals. 
 
 
Healthy Snack: If you’re still interested in purchasing healthy snack for all away games, please turn in your order and payments by this Wednesday. Healthy snack will be given to students at 3:30pm in the band room this Friday. Students who do not purchase the healthy snack meal are strongly encouraged to eat before leaving for the game. While students will be given the opportunity to visit the concession stand at North Fort Myers, this will not be until after 8:00pm—given that there is no weather delay! If there’s a weather delay, students may not be given the opportunity to eat until much later.
 
 
Away Game at North Fort Myers (Fri. 9/7): Our first away football game of the year is this Friday! Call time is 4:00pm. Band students will wear this year’s green band t-shirt, black marching band shorts, calf length solid black socks and marching band shoes. Band students will wear this underneath their marching band uniforms. Auxiliary will wear their halftime uniforms to the game. Students will be given a 3rdquarter break, which will allow them to visit the concession stands at North Fort Myers. Students must bring their own money to purchase meals at North Fort Myers, as this is not provided by our Band Boosters. Updates on our return to PRHS will be posted on the Band Twitter and Facebook Page. 
 
 
Band Room After School Hours: The band room will close at 2:30pm at the end of every school day. The band room will reopen an hour before rehearsal starts. On Friday, the band room will remain open due to the early call time for healthy snack. Students are reminded that they are not allowed on campus unless a teacher is supervising them. If students choose to stay on school grounds, they must wait outside of the building. 
 
 
Coupon Book Fundraiser: Thank you to everyone who participated in the Coupon Book Fundraiser. We will be starting our MBI Ad Fundraiser next week. Students who did not sell a coupon book will be required to sell at least 1 MBI Ad.  
 
 
Band SWAG: Band Swag will now be available for sale and pick-up at the end of every Tuesday night rehearsal by the flagpole. Please email Mr. Buddy Rainey for more information at buddyrainey2@gmail.com.  
 
 
Chicago Band Trip: Student registration for the Chicago Band Trip is now closed. If you need to make special arrangements for your payments, please contact our Trip Coordinator Kim Mikitka. Kim can be reached by phone at (800) 373-1423 ext. 243 or via email at kmikitka@bobrogerstravel.com. Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm (central time).
 
 
Parent Volunteers Needed: Please contact the following Booster Chairs to volunteer this week: (Chaperoning) Mrs. Eileen Fuentes prhschaps@gmail.com, (Healthy Snack) Mr. Buddy Rainey buddyrainey2@gmail.com, (Truck Crew) Mr. Wilfredo Figueroa figgy736@googlemail.com. All parent volunteers will need to wear a lanyard for this Friday’s game. Lanyards will be given out to parent volunteers upon arrival on Friday. Please remember to return your lanyard at the end of the evening. ​
