Congratulations to last week's Marchers of the Week: Taylor Kissane, Danillo Andrade, Kyle Jacobsen, Britney Titus and Lexi Styles! Last week’s Section of the Week was the sousaphone section! We had a very successful first away home game last week! Thank you to all parents who volunteered their time to help out.

Cheesecake Trip Fundraiser (Due Tues. 9/11): Orders are due tomorrow Tuesday, September 11th. This fundraiser is completely optional. Students have the opportunity to raise money towards their Chicago Band Trip. 40% of all profits will go towards their trip. All students may participate in this fundraiser. All profits that are not used towards the Chicago Trip will turn into general donations to the PRHS Bands. 
 
 
CCPS Virtual Financial Aid Information Night (Thurs. 9/13): CCPS is holding this district wide virtual event so parents can attend on one date at several locations, one of those location is Palmetto Ridge High School. The event will also be streamed LIVE online and on The Education Channel (cable 99). We encourage all interested senior parents to attend this meeting. Students who wish to attend the meeting are reminded that students who miss Thursday night’s rehearsal will not be allowed to perform at Friday night’s game. Attending the meeting will not affect your grade, but it will affect your ability to perform. 
 
 
Thursday Band Practice Attire: This Thursday’s band attire is green shirt and black shorts. In addition to this attire, band students will be wearing their marching bibbers and hats for this rehearsal. 
 
 
Auxiliary Equipment Check (Fri. 9/14): Auxiliary students will be receiving their new white and gold silks in class tomorrow. All equipment will be checked on Friday during class. All flags must be properly taped with the student’s labeled name. All flag and dance feature students should have 1 purple and gold flag and 1 white and gold flag. All weapon line students should have 1 white flag, 1 rifle and 1 sabre all labeled properly. This equipment check will be graded. 
 
 
Home Game vs. Estero (Fri. 9/14): Call time is 5:00pm. Band students will arrive to call wearing this year’s gray band t-shirt, black marching band shorts, calf length solid black socks and marching band shoes. Auxiliary students should arrive to call wearing their pregame uniforms. 
 
 
Band Room After School Hours: The band room will close at 2:30pm at the end of every school day. The band room will reopen an hour before rehearsal starts. On Friday, the band room close at 2:30pm and reopen at 4:00pm. Students are reminded that they are not allowed on campus unless a teacher is supervising them. If students choose to stay on school grounds, they must wait outside of the building. 
 
 
All-State Auditions (Sat. 9/15): All-State Auditions will be held at Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School located at 4750 Winkler Ave. in Fort Myers. Participating students will receive their audition times from Mrs. Robinson this week. Students will have to provide their transportation to and from Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School. 
 
 
SENIORS!!!: Seniors, we’re starting to make our preparations for Band Senior Night (Friday, October 26th). We need to know how many caps and crowns to order. A sign-up sheet will be passed around class this week so senior students can sign up for whichever they prefer: baseball cap or crown. Students may choose both, but they will then be charged $15 for the cap.  
 
 
Marching Band Rehearsal Saturday, 9/22 CANCELLED: The Marching Pride will not be rehearsing on Saturday, September 22nd as originally scheduled. Considering the fact that the students have a band event every Saturday in October, we’ve decided to give the students a bit of a break.
 
 
Band Show and MBI Program Ad Fundraiser: We will be starting our Program Ad Fundraiser this week. Students who did not sell a coupon book will be required to sell at least one Program Ad. Program ads can serve as a business ad or they may serve as a place for parents to cheer on their student. These ads will be in our programs for the CCPS Band Show on October 20th and the 15th Annual Marching Band Invitational on November 3rd. Order forms will be given out in class later this week. 
 
 
Chicago Band Trip Forms: All students registered for the Chicago Band Trip should’ve received a separate email with information regarding required trip forms. All forms are due by Monday, October 1st and can be found at the following link: http://www.prhsbands.org/2018-band-trip-info.html.
 
 
Chicago Band Trip: Please note that our next Trip Meeting is on Monday, October 5th. If you need to make special arrangements for your payments, please contact our Trip Coordinator Kim Mikitka. Kim can be reached by phone at (800) 373-1423 ext. 243 or via email at kmikitka@bobrogerstravel.com. Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm (central time).
 
 
Parent Volunteers Needed: Please contact the following Booster Chairs to volunteer this week: (Chaperoning) Mrs. Eileen Fuentes prhschaps@gmail.com, (Concessions) Mr. Buddy Rainey buddyrainey2@gmail.com, (Truck Crew) Mr. Wilfredo Figueroa figgy736@googlemail.com. All parent volunteers will need to wear an orange lanyard for this Friday’s game. Mr. Bigler and/or Mrs. Fuentes will give out lanyards to parent volunteers after Thursday night’s rehearsal or upon arrival on Friday. Please remember to return your lanyard at the end of the evening. ​
