Weekly Update

Congratulations to our auxiliary team on a very successful District Auxiliary MPA! All our indoor auxiliary groups earned Superior ratings and qualified for State! We had 32 soloists perform, and of the 32 events, 9 earned Excellent ratings, and 23 qualified for State with Superior ratings. Congratulations to all our students, we’re so proud of all of you! State Auxiliary MPA will be at Palmetto Ridge High School on Tuesday, April 2nd.

CCPS Concert Band Pre-MPA (Tues. 2/20): Our Wind Ensemble will have their Pre-MPA performance at Gulf Coast High School on Tuesday, February 20th. Call time is 4:30pm. Performance time is 7:00pm. After the performance, the students will watch bands perform. The approximate return to PRHS is 9:00pm. Parents and students are encouraged to come and watch the performances in the GCHS auditorium. There is no admission charge.
 
FFCC Color Guard Competition at Braden River HS (Sat. 2/24): Our Varsity Guard will have their first competition of the season on Saturday, February 24th at Braden River High School. Call time is 11:30am. Students will need to eat lunch before they arrive, and they will need to bring money to buy their dinner at the event. All students will travel to and from Braden River High School via school bus. Alternate Travel Forms are due by 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 21st. The approximate return to PRHS is 10:30pm.
 
Mid-Year Band Concert (Wed. 2/28): Our Mid-Year Band Concert is coming up on Wednesday, February 28th. This concert will start at 5:30pm in the auditorium. We will feature both jazz bands, all 3 concert bands, a few select small ensemble groups, and the concert bands from Immokalee Middle School, Corkscrew Middle School, and Cypress Palm Middle School. There is no admission charge. Please save the date, we hope to see you there!
 
District Concert Band MPA (Thurs. 3/7 and Fri. 3/8): Our District Concert Band MPA is at Gulf Coast High School. Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble will perform on Thursday, March 7th and Wind Symphony will perform on Friday, March 8th. Call times are posted on the calendar. We’re still waiting for the district to work through bus transportation issues. We may encourage students in Symphonic Winds and Wind Symphony to consider alternate travel arrangements to return to PRHS. More information will be shared when it’s available.
 
Concert Attire (Due by Fri. 2/16): If you did not purchase your concert attire for the Winterfest performance, please be sure to order it ASAP. Students will turn in a picture of their attire in Canvas to show that they are prepared for our upcoming concert and District Concert MPA.
