We hope that everyone enjoyed Homecoming Week! Thank you to everyone who participated in the events provided by our SGA.
Hopefully, you received the Tropical Storm Ian update from the district. For now, we will continue with our plans for this week. If there are any updates, we’ll be sure to send those out via email and social media. Thank you to Mr. Rowtie, our Band Boosters, Band Staff, and Student Leaders for all of their help in preparing the band room and Music Department areas in the event that there is a storm.
This week we have an away game at Gulf Coast High School. Krispy Kreme Orders are also due by this Friday. On Saturday, we have a marching band rehearsal in the backfield from 8:00am-2:00pm. Please be prepared with water, sunscreen, and a bagged lunch.

Here’s what’s supposed to happen this week…
This Week’s Schedule:
Make-up Assignments: All missed rehearsals and performances will require a make-up assignment. Instructions on how to request a make-up assignment are posted on Canvas.
Thursday Rehearsal Attire (Thurs. 9/29): For this Thursday, band students will wear a black shirt with dark colored shorts. Auxiliary will wear a white shirt with black bottoms.
Away Game at Gulf Coast HS (Fri. 9/30): This week’s game is an away game at Gulf Coast High School! Healthy Snack will be at 4:00pm. Call time for students is 4:30pm. This Friday, band students will wear their full marching band uniform and auxiliary will wear their pregame uniform! Underneath their uniform, all band students will wear this year’s green Marching Pride shirt, this year’s black marching band shorts, tall black crew socks, and marching band shoes. Auxiliary students will wear their pregame top, pregame leggings, tights, black auxiliary shoes, earrings, and full hair and makeup. Auxiliary students will not wear their show uniforms this week. All students are expected to travel together to and from Gulf Coast HS via school bus. The game starts at 7:00pm and tickets are available on gofan.co. Please be prepared to pick-up your student around 10:30pm. Students will text and call their rides when they leave GCHS and then again when we are close to approaching PRHS.
Third Quarter Break at Gulf Coast HS: All students will eat during their 3rd quarter break, but that will not be until after 8:00pm. Students will have to bring money to purchase their meals at GCHS. These meals are not included in the band fee. We have not received a list of what they offer at concessions. We advise that students have at least $10-15 to spend at concessions.
Saturday Marching Band Rehearsal (Sat. 10/1): This Saturday’s rehearsal is scheduled from 8:00am-2:00pm. Band students are asked to wear a white shirt with dark bottoms. Auxiliary is asked to wear a pink shirt with black bottoms. Please remember to bring your jug of water! There will be a lunch break at 11:30am. All students will have to pack their own lunch, just like band camp. This rehearsal will be graded, and all students are expected to attend. Students who do not attend will have to complete a make-up assignment in order to perform at the Lehigh Competition. If this make-up assignment is not completed with a passing grade, students will be suspended from the Home Game Performance on 10/7 and the Lehigh Competition on 10/8.
Krispy Kreme Fundraiser (Due Fri. 9/30): Our Band Boosters are holding their annual Krispy Kreme Fundraiser! Students have the option to sell boxes of donuts and/or digital coupons. Boxes and digital coupons are $12 each. Students who are going to Texas will have the opportunity to earn $5 towards their trip for every box/digital coupon sold. This is also a general fundraiser for our program, so we’re asking all students to participate. Students who are not going to Texas will help raise money for marching band season expenses. There are separate instructions on how to sell digital coupons online and then there is a separate order form for those who wish to sell boxes of donuts. Please contact Band Booster Vice President, Mrs. Sandra Llorca at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Dancing Cubs Fundraiser: Our Band Boosters are holding their annual Dancing Cubs Fundraiser. We are inviting students in grades PreK-8 to come and dance with our Auxiliary Team during 8th Grade Band Night on Friday, October 7th. The first practice is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27th!
