While you have the time, now is a great time to clean out your mouthpiece, send in your instrument for repair, and/or purchase new reeds, valve oil, or any accessories needed. Auxiliary students should also use this time to start purchasing the attire they need for Winterfest!

After School Concert Band Rehearsals (Start Tues. 12/1): The concert bands will start their after-school rehearsals after Thanksgiving Break on Tuesday, December 1st. These practices will help to prepare for Winterfest. These rehearsals will take place in the Faculty Parking Lot. Please drop off and pick-up up students by the flagpole.

Cheesecake Fundraiser Pick-up (Thurs. 12/3): All orders will be available for pick-up starting at 2:05pm until 6:00pm. Please make arrangements for your student to pick-up their order sometime after school. Please keep in mind that these cheesecakes come frozen, so it’s very important that all students pick-up and deliver their orders in a timely manner.

POSSIBLE Home Play-off Game (Fri. 12/4): If the football team wins their game this Friday, they will have another play-off game at PRHS and the Marching Pride will attend and perform! If we have the game, the start time for students will be 7:00pm. Report time for the game will be as followed: Officers – 6:30pm, Low Brass, Percussion, Auxiliary, and Mellos – 6:40pm, Trumpets, Saxes, Flutes, and Clarinets – 6:50pm. The uniform for band will be green band t-shirt or football play-off t-shirt, band shorts or black pants, black socks, dark gym shoes, music masks, and black bell covers on the instrument. The uniform for auxiliary will be green band t-shirt or football play-off t-shirt, black leggings, tights, dark gym shoes, music masks, high slicked back ponytail for hair, and black smokey eye for make-up.

Music Masks: All students are being reminded to take care of their music masks. We have very few extras at this point. Please do not lose your masks as you will need them for all performances. Woodwind and brass students are also expected to wear their music masks in band class as much as possible.

Winterfest 2020 Information:
  • To accommodate our Marching Pride families, the band and auxiliary will have their Winterfest concerts on Saturday, December 12th in the Faculty Parking Lot.
  • We will have one concert at 5:00pm and a second concert at 8:00pm. Both concerts will be identical and all students will be required to perform at both concerts.
  • The concert will be about an hour in length.
  • The time in between concerts will allow for the students to have a break and eat dinner. It will also allow time for audience members to transition in and out.
  • This concert will feature all concert bands, all jazz bands, auxiliary, percussion, and the Marching Pride.
  • Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, December 1st before or after school. Tickets are $5.00 and since the concert is in the parking lot, we’re asking families to BYOC—Bring Your Own Chair. We will have some chairs available for those who are not able to provide their own chairs, but lawn chair may be more comfortable.
  • The Band Boosters will be providing concessions at this concert and they will also sell band swag. Students will have the opportunity to purchase Subway meals for their break.
  • All spectators will be required to wear masks at the concert.
  • We will keep families socially distant by having them seated in the parking spaces.
  • Concert attire for students: concert black or black dress clothes. Students are allowed to wear holiday attire with their concert black. For example: Christmas sweaters, socks, Santa hats, etc.
  • Students are allowed and encouraged to decorate their instruments for this event. Please do not use scotch tape, duct tape, or packaging tape when decorating your instruments!
