As the first semester comes to an end, please be sure to check all grades and assignments on Focus. If there are any issues, please contact Mrs. Robinson or Mr. Claro. Grades will be very hard to change after Friday, January 13th.
The FMEA Music Conference is this week. Please wish Ellie Carvajal good luck as she prepares to perform with the 2023 All-State High School Honors Band! Palmetto Ridge is also proud to be sending Michael Larkin for choir, Cindy Rojas for orchestra, and Blake Waligora and Remington Newton will be attending the Tri-M Student Experience Sessions. Mrs. Robinson will not be in this week Wednesday through Friday. Mr. Claro will not be in this week Thursday through Friday. On Wednesday, Mrs. Robinson will be attending training at FMEA to become an FBA Adjudicator. On Thursday and Friday, Mr. Claro and Mrs. Robinson will be attending seminars at FMEA. While Mrs. Robinson is away, student leaders will be asked to run sectionals to prepare music for MPA. All students are reminded to please stay on task. Congratulations Ellie Carvajal on winning the Bob Rogers Travel Scholarship! Students applied by sending in a 30-60 second video in November and the winners were announced in December. Congratulations Ellie, we’re very proud and happy for you! Unfortunately, we did not have any students selected for the SYTA Youth Foundation Road Scholarship. Thank you to all who applied. If you sold any Triple Chocolate Chunk cookie dough, your orders will come in after school on Monday, January 9th. Please stop by the band room after school to pick-up your order. Thank you for your patience. Our Band Boosters will hold their monthly meeting tomorrow in the band room at 7:00pm. All-County Band students will start their rehearsals this week on Tuesday. 2023 Band & Auxiliary Event Calendars: Students were given Band and Auxiliary Event Calendars for the remaining dates of the semester. All dates are posted on the band calendar found on the band website. All band students are required to turn in a Second Semester contract through Canvas. This contract is due by Tuesday, January 17. All auxiliary students have already turned in their Indoor Auxiliary Contracts. 2023 All-County Honor Band: All Honor Band students are reminded that rehearsals start this week. Music was given to students last week. Please be sure to prepare your music ahead of time. All rehearsals and performances will be held at Gulf Coast High School. A Student Agreement Form was also attached. Please review the provided information. Agreement forms are due to Mrs. Robinson by Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Students have until Tuesday, January 10th to add/or drop out of District S&E MPA. Students will not be able to make changes to their entries after January 10th. Students who drop out after January 10th will be charged a Drop Fee. District Auxiliary MPA: The roster of students who signed up for District Auxiliary MPA was posted on Canvas. Jazz Band students will need their concert attire by February 1, 2023.
