We’re looking forward to holding our Mid-Year Band Concert this Thursday in the auditorium. Tickets will be distributed to students during class. Students will have to ask for their two tickets. Unclaimed tickets will be given to those who want extras on Wednesday.
 
Just a reminder, band Pictures should be available online to those who registered. If you are not getting information on how to view and order pictures, please email the photographer at MFernandez@PortraitEFX.com and he can assist you.

Concert Band After School Dress Rehearsals: This week’s after school rehearsals for all three concert bands will count as dress rehearsals. Attendance is required in order to perform for the concert. Students do not need to dress up for these rehearsals. All woodwind and brass students will be required to wear their music masks at these rehearsals. Students who do not have a music mask will have to purchase one for $15. Percussion students are required to wear a mask as well, but they are not required to wear the “music mask.”
 
Mid-Year Band Concert General Concert Information:
  • The Mid-Year Band Concert will take place on Thursday, April 8th in the PRHS Auditorium.
  • The concert will be broken up in to four mini-concerts so that all parents have the opportunity to see their student’s performance while staying socially distant.
  • The concert will be broken down as followed:
    • 6:00pm – Jazz Band 1 & Jazz Band 2
    • 6:45pm – Symphonic Band
    • 7:30pm – Symphonic Wind Symphony
    • 8:15pm – Wind Ensemble
  • There is NO admission charge, but tickets will be required in order to attend each portion of the concert.
  • Each student will be given two tickets for their portion of the concert. If there are siblings in the same ensemble, we will only be able to give two tickets for the household.
  • Tickets will be distributed to students during class starting on Monday, April 5th. Students will have to ask Mrs. Robinson for their two tickets. We will give out unclaimed tickets starting on Wednesday, April 7th. So, there is a possibility of getting extra tickets.
  • All audience members will be required to wear a mask throughout the entire duration of the concert.  
  • Upon arrival, audience members will use a specified “entrance” door to enter and a specified “exit” door to exit the building.
  • Available seats in the auditorium will be marked with green tape.
  • We will record the concert and share the video for those who are not able to attend in person.
  • Unfortunately, band students will not have the opportunity to watch their peers during the concert, unless they’re able to acquire a ticket. We plan on having a concert during the school day specifically for the band students so that they will have the opportunity to perform for each other. A date for this event will be released when it’s available.
  • We also want to apologize for the inconvenience of this concert format. Our main goal is to provide our students with a performance opportunity that allows their parents to see and hear their progress. As of right now, these are the things we have to do in order for the event to take place. Thank you for your understanding and we hope that you will all consider attending the concert.
 
Concert Call Time for Students:
  • All students are to report to the band room at the following times:
    • 5:15pm – Jazz Band 1 & Jazz Band 2
    • 6:00pm – Symphonic Band
    • 6:45pm – Symphonic Wind Symphony
    • 7:30pm – Wind Ensemble
 
Band Student Concert Attire:
  • All students are required to wear their music masks for the performance. Band students must have their bell covers.
  • Band students are to wear all black dress clothes.
  • Students may not wear: jeans, sweatpants, t-shirts, pajama pants, band jackets, onsies, gym shoes, crocs, sandals, sliders, or any clothing that does not follow the school dress code.
 
2021-2022 Marching Pride Information Meeting (Mon. April 12): An information meeting for the 2021-2022 Marching Pride Season will be held on Monday, April 12th in the gymnasium. This meeting will be split into 3 sessions to ensure that all those in attendance can be socially distant. More information will be provided in a separate email.
 
Collier County Concert Band Festival (Fri. April 16): Collier County is holding a Concert Band Festival at Gulf Coast High School on April 16. This Festival will allow performing bands to have a live performance for their parents and judges. After each performance, the bands will get to work with one of the judges in a clinic. Mrs. Robinson will be taking the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Wind Symphony to this festival. More information will come when it’s provided. All concert bands are still doing recordings for Concert MPA.
 
Rhythm of the Pride Recital (Tues. April 27): The auxiliary team and percussion students will hold their end of the year recital on Thursday, April 27th.  Tickets will be sold at $5, but there will be a limit to how many tickets can be sold. Each student will have the opportunity to purchase 2 tickets. This will help to ensure that audience members can be socially distant during the recital. Masks will also be required by all in attendance at all times. More information will be given at a later time.

  • 2021-2022 Band Placement Auditions, April 19-22, by appointment
  • 2021-2022 Percussion Auditions, April 21-22, 5:00-7:00pm
  • 2021-2022 Auxiliary Auditions, May 4, 5, & 11, 4:30-6:30pm
  • 2021-2022 Drum Major Auditions, May 10, 2:30pm
  • Spring Band Concert, May 13, time TBD
  • Band Awards Banquet, May 15, time TBD
