This is a message from Collier County Public Schools:


Hurricane Dorian’s turn is not expected until the early hours of tomorrow (Tuesday, September 3) which is when the weather for Collier can be affected. We have also received information from the National Weather Service showing that the “reasonable worst case” winds could potentially exceed safe levels for buses to be on the road.
Therefore, out of an abundance of caution for student and staff safety, CCPS will be CLOSED tomorrow (Tuesday, September 3, 2019). This includes all CCPS sites and all CCPS employees.


Further, all after-school programs held at CCPS sites will be closed, all extracurricular activities, including athletic practices and competitions, will be cancelled, all Adult and Community Education classes will be cancelled, and all District leases will be suspended.


We (CCPS) will make a determination about Wednesday by 3:00 p.m., tomorrow (Tuesday, September 3).


Please note: the weather tomorrow may look nice, but Collier is projected to receive bands of winds.


Stay safe and enjoy your Labor Day holiday. We will keep you updated as information becomes available.


Congratulations to our Marchers of the Week: Sofia Rojas (woodwind), Liam Willingham (brass), Christian Marimon (percussion), Leslie Torres (auxiliary), and Zachary Seymour (officer). Congratulations to our Section of the Week, the Trumpet Section led by Section Leaders Diego Mendoza and Anthony Kirtman! 

We’d like to thank all of our parents and students who gave their time to help build our show props and those who helped with last Friday’s football game! Please visit the PRHS Band Website to learn how you can become a Marching Pride Volunteer for concessions, chaperoning, and truck crew. 


Coupon Book Orders are past due, but we will still accept orders this week. (All students were asked to sell 1 coupon book.) We have our first Away Football Game this Friday at Bishop Vero High School, call is 3:30pm. Healthy Snack will be served in the Band Room at 3:00pm. If you still want to order the Healthy Snack Meal, please email Mrs. Robinson by this Wednesday, September 4th!


VERY IMPORTANT:Please remember that Mrs. Robinson is not allowed to release students to even their parents while at a PRHS sponsored event. If parents wish to take their student while he/she is supposed to be with the band, they must complete an Alternate Travel Request Form 3 days prior to the event. More information is provided below.

  • Marching Band Rehearsal (backfield), 5:30-8:30pm 
Friday (9/6)
  • Healthy Snack, 3:00pm
  • Away at Bishop Vero HS, Call 3:30pm

Marching Band After School Rehearsals (Thurs. 9/5): Tuesday’s after school rehearsal has been cancelled. This Thursday’s rehearsal will be back field and we’re asking all band students to wear a black t-shirt and all auxiliary a white t-shirt. Please refer to the PRHS Bands Calendar for all rehearsal and performance date. Please take note, we have a Saturday rehearsal scheduled on September 14 from 9:00am-4:00pm. All after school rehearsals are graded. Students who miss rehearsal may be suspended from upcoming performances. 


Healthy Snack Meals (Fri. 9/6): Healthy Snack will be served in the Band Room at 3:00pm. Students who still wish to order and/or pay for this meal must notify Mrs. Robinson by this Wednesday, September 4th.The cost of the meal plan is $30.


Away Game at Bishop Vero HS (Fri. 9/6): The call time for all students is 3:30pm. We will be in full uniform this week. All band students will wear this year’s white band t-shirt, this year’s green marching band shorts, tall solid black socks, and marching band shoes. All auxiliary students will wear this year’s pregame uniform, tights, this year’s black outdoor auxiliary shoes, earrings, full make-up and hair. The approximate return to PRHS is 11:00pm. Please check the PRHS Band Twitter and Facebook Page for updates throughout the evening. 


Alternate Travel Requests: All students are expected to travel to and from PRHS on the buses that are provided by the school. An Alternate Travel Request Form is required if parents would like to request to either drive their student to an event and/or pick-up their student from an event. These forms are due to Mrs. Robinson at least 3 days before an event. This week, Mrs. Robinson will accept forms up until Thursday morning at 7:10am. Alternate Travel Requests are available on the Band Website. These forms can also be used for the Disney Band Trip. Please note that students are only allowed to travel with parents or legal guardians for alternate travel. Alternate Travel Requests are not approved for students traveling with other students, siblings, family friends, or anyone other than their parent/legal guardian.


Coupon Book Fundraiser (Past Due): The PRHS Band Boosters are still accepting orders this week. Each student is expected to sell one book. Profits from any book sold after the initial two can go towards this year’s Band Trip to Disney. 


Cheesecake Fundraiser (Due Mon. 9/2): This fundraiser is completely optional; it is not a Band Booster Fundraiser. The purpose of this fundraiser is to give families an opportunity to raise money for this year’s Disney Trip. The profits from this fundraiser can only be used towards this year’s band trip. It is not an option to keep a “balance” for future trips. Profits that are not used towards this year’s trip will turn into a donation to the PRHS Band Program.


Disney Trip Payments (Due Fri. 9/27): It is not too late to sign up for the Disney Band Trip. The final deadline to sign up for the trip is September 27th. Park tickets will be ordered in the end of September. Students will not be able to sign-up for the trip after the tickets are ordered. 


2019-2020 Marching Pride Swag: Marching Pride water bottles will be available for purchase during lunch in the band room for $15.The rest of our swag is now available for viewing on our band website. The order form is available online and in the band room. Orders will be collected in the “Band Booster Box” located in the band room. 

Parent Volunteers Needed!
  • Healthy Snack Distribution (Fri. 9/6) Please email Booster President, Mr. Anthony Rowtie at kb2sfa@yahoo.com if you’re able to help distribute Healthy Snack. 
  • Away Football Game (Fri. 9/6) Please email our Head Chaperone, Ms. Eileen Fuentes at prhschap@gmail.com if you’re able to help with chaperoning, concessions, or truck crew. Parents are reminded that we’re only allotted a certain number of parent volunteers per game. Parents who are assigned to volunteer will receive an email.
