Congratulations to everyone who completed their Band Placement Auditions and Percussion Audition for next year. Percussion results will be posted by the end of this week and band placement auditions will not be posted until after May 15th. Thank you for your patience.
Don’t forget that our Rhythm of the Pride Recital is this Tuesday night at 6:30pm in the gym. The last day to purchase pre-sold tickets for $5 will be on Monday. Tickets will be sold at the door for $7. Percussion and auxiliary students will have their dress rehearsal for Rhythm of the Pride on Monday from 2:30-6:00pm. Also on Monday, our Boosters are holding their monthly meeting at 7:00pm in the band room. They will be electing new board members for next year at this meeting. All parents are encouraged to attend the meeting. On Friday, our drumline and auxiliary will be performing at lunch for and Academic Signing Pep Rally. Students who wish to participate should wear a PRHS Marching Pride shirt, neutral bottoms, and gym shoes. Please line up by 11:45am. Participating students will eat lunch after the performance. Also on Friday, our Wind Ensemble will be traveling to Broward Central College to perform at State Concert Band MPA. Call time is 4:00pm. Healthy snack orders are due by this Tuesday, no exceptions. Make-up Assignments: All missed rehearsals and performances will require a make-up assignment. Instructions on how to request a make-up assignment are posted on Canvas. Rhythm of the Pride Recital (Tues. 4/18): Our Auxiliary and Percussion students are having their annual end of the year recital next week Tuesday, April 18th at 6:30pm. This recital will also feature our Dancing Cubs. The last day to purchase pre-sold tickets at $5 is Monday, April 17th. Otherwise, tickets will be available at the door for $7. All participating students will have their dress rehearsal on Monday, 4/17 from 2:30-6:00pm. State Concert Band MPA (Fri. 4/21): State Concert Band MPA for Wind Ensemble will be on Friday, April 21st at Broward College Central in Davie, FL. Wind Ensemble is scheduled to perform at 8:00pm. Call time will be 4:00pm. We will be traveling to and from Broward College Central via school bus. Students will have the option to purchase a healthy snack meal for this trip. We will not be able to make any stops for dinner. Students who do not wish to purchase a healthy snack meal will have to pack their own dinner. The last day to purchase a healthy snack meal will be Tuesday, April 18th. Auxiliary Auditions (Mon. 5/1, Tues. 5/2, Fri. 5/3): Auxiliary auditions for next year’s auxiliary team are in May on the dates provided. Band Booster Senior Scholarships (Due Thurs. 5/4): This year our Band Boosters are offering 2 senior scholarship awards, the Daileen Alfonso Scholarship Award, and the Julie Ann Johnson Scholarship Award. These awards will be presented at the Band Awards Banquet on Saturday, May 13th. Students who are interested in applying must complete the online application and essay by Thursday, May 4th. Mrs. Robinson sent invitations to the page last week. This Canvas Page is the only way students can access and turn in applications and contracts. Please contact Mrs. Robinson for more information. 2023-2024 Marching Pride Commitment Forms & Fees (Due Mon. 5/15): Commitment Forms and Fees for next year are due by Monday, May 15th. Please help to spread the word to new members. Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music and Christman Music. Both vendors can drop off orders and pick-up instruments for repair at PRHS—but parents must call to make arrangements ahead of time. Instruments will not be picked up unless orders for repair are placed ahead of time.
