Weekly Update

This past weekend our auxiliary team had their District Auxiliary MPA at Lely High School. Our Varsity Guard, JV Guard, Contemporary Dance, and Lyrical Dance ensembles all earned Superior ratings and will go on to State. The following students earned a superior rating on their solos and will also go on to State: Monika Ataman, Lyzbeth Bautista Santiago, Vivienne Briley, Daniela Cadavid, Thais Chan, Thaliana Chavez-Vidal, Yasmine Corral, Anai Cortinas, Mia Dixon, Yulizay Figueredo, Mailuby Figueredo, Damara Georges, Tatiana Hernandez, Gianna Klenk, Isabella Martinez, Melanie Moreno, Samantha Mugavero, Haylie Nguyen, Hannah Orsini, Jillian Paquette, Gaby Portu, Daniela Rives, Alexandra Sepesi, Natalie Silguero, Mackenzie Summers, Alys Torres, Leslie Torres, Isabella Viquez, Serenity Watson, and Taylor Williams. State Auxiliary MPA will be at Palmetto Ridge High School on Tuesday, March 29th. Congratulations to all our students! We’re so proud of all of you!


This past weekend, we had 25 student events at the District Solo & Ensemble MPA at Lely High School. The following students earned a superior rating on their solos and/or ensembles: Luis Morales, Ellie Carvajal, Alana Aikey, Breanna Daly, Jennifer Peralta, Victor Perez, Maria Gallegos-Castro, Edith Garcia, Anthony Castillo, Ryan Rowtie, Alex Rojas, Mason Duryea, Blake Waligora, Ben Llorca, Eddi Feliciano, Andy Bonet, Wilens Saint Louis, Anna Hudson, Nayelis Gomez, Jonathan Eysaman, Kleber Flores-Hernandez, Christopher Cohen, Remington Newton, Michael Gordon, Andrew Borbor, and Carlos Cazorla-Vergel. Students who earned a superior rating on a grade 5 piece or harder will go on to State. State Solo & Ensemble will be at the American Heritage School on March 21-23. Thank you and congratulations to all of our participating students! We are so proud of your accomplishments and hard work!


This week our jazz bands will be performing in their District Jazz MPA. The event will be held at Palmetto Ridge High School. The full schedule and details are below.

Friday, (2/11)

• District Jazz MPA, 10:00am-3:00pm

School Instrument Rental Fees (Past Due): All band students who are using a school owned instrument must turn in their $100 rental fee. Students who paid the rental fee during marching band season, do not have to pay another fee. 


District Solo & Ensemble MPA Drop Fee (Past Due): All band students who dropped out of their Solo & Ensemble Performance need to pay their drop fee of $10. It is $10 per student, per event. This payment is due to our Band Boosters.


Concert Attire (Due Tues. 2/15): All band students will wear the assigned concert attire for the Mid-Year Band Concert and District Concert MPA. The required attire information is attached to here. The pants originally listed for the gentlemen attire is out of stock and will have to be purchased at a different site. Please contact Mrs. Robinson at [email protected] if you have any concerns.  


District Jazz MPA (Fri. 2/11): Palmetto Ridge High School will be hosting this year’s District Jazz MPA. Jazz Band 2 will be performing at 10:00am and Jazz Band 1 will be performing at 12:00pm. All band and auxiliary classes will report to the auditorium for class on Friday. Jazz band students will remain in the auditorium for the entire event. Jazz band students will wear their concert attire for their performance. Parents are encouraged and invited to attend the event. There is no admission charge.


Pre-MPA for Wind Ensemble Students (Thurs. 2/17): Wind Ensemble will have their Pre-MPA at Gulf Coast High School on Thursday, February 17th. Call time will be 3:30pm. Wind Ensemble will perform at 6:00pm. The approximate return to PRHS is 7:30pm.


Universal Studios Band Trip Reminders:

• All required forms are due by Monday, 2/14.
• If your student will require prescription medication while on the trip, you will have to turn in all prescription and a Medication Authorization formed (signed by your student’s physician) to the school nurse by Monday, 2/14.
• Luggage and bags are due on 2/23.
• Our rehearsal will be on 2/24.

Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music (239) 275-6262 and Christman Music (239) 254-8863. If needed, please be sure to get your instrument fixed and have all your needed supplies. Christman Music visits PRHS on Mondays and Cadence Music comes on Wednesdays.
