Call time for students is 5:00pm. The band room will be closed from 2:30-4:30pm. Band students will wear full uniform with this year’s black WNW shirt, this year’s black marching band shorts, tall solid black crew socks, and marching band shoes. Auxiliary students will wear their pregame uniform, tights, black auxiliary shoes, earrings, and full show hair and makeup. Auxiliary will bring their show uniform in their duffel bags and change uniforms before the performance. The Marching Pride will most likely perform post-game due to the amount of time it takes to perform the amount of show we have prepared with all props on the field. The Gulf Coast marching band will perform during halftime. The game starts at 7:00pm and tickets are available on gofan.co. Please be prepared to pick-up your student around 10:30pm. Students will text and call their rides when they return to the band room at the end of the game. Game Day Student Drop-off and Pick-up: For Friday, please drop-off your student in either the back of the school by the portables or in the bus loop. Student pick-up will be in the main loop by the flagpole. Thank you for your cooperation. Game Day Student & Staff Parking: All Marching Pride students, staff, and parent volunteers will park in the back parking lot by the portables for Friday night’s game. You will be asked to move your vehicle if you park in front of the school or in the bus parking lot located behind the visitor’s stands. Thank you for your cooperation. Stadium Clean-up (Fri. 9/29): This Friday, clean-up duty is assigned to the Percussion and Auxiliary Section. (Woodwinds and Percussion will have the next home game. Brass and Auxiliary will have the last home game.) Students will be provided with gloves when they return to the stadium. Auxiliary Show Uniforms: All auxiliary students have been given their show uniforms. These uniforms must be hand washed in cold water with mild detergent and line dried. There are no extra uniforms and there is no way to replace uniforms that are lost or damaged. All students will be required to return the show uniforms at the end of the marching band season, as the cost is not covered by their band fee. Students who return the uniform in damaged condition will be charged $75. Disney Band Trip Meeting (Mon. 10/2): Our first band trip meeting will be on Monday, October 2nd in the auditorium. Check-in will start at 6:00pm and the meeting will start promptly at 6:30pm. The Marching Pride is traveling to Disney World on February 2 & 3. The date was changed due to charter bus availability. This trip is completely optional. If you’re interested in getting more information, please plan on attending the meeting. Meeting handouts will be available in class on October 3rd. Naples Southwest Florida Games Competition (Sat. 10/7): Our first competition of the year is on Saturday, October 7th at Naples High School. Details were sent in a separate email last week and are attached to this email. State Marching Band Championships (Sat. 11/11): Mrs. Robinson hopes to send the Marching Pride to the FMBC State Marching Band Championships this year. State will be in the Tampa Bay area on Saturday, November 11th. If the Marching Pride competes at State, we will have to travel on charter buses. Charter buses are extremely expensive with limited availability.
