Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Marching Pride and our Jazz Bands at Ave Maria’s Hometown Christmas last Friday. We definitely had a great time and are thankful for the community for inviting us!


This week is a very busy week! We have rehearsals or performances after school every day this week.


Here’s what you need to know for this week’s events.

Monday (12/6)
  • Yearbook large class pictures during lunch – Freshmen wear white
  • Winterfest Dress Rehearsal, 2:30-5:00pm
  • Band Booster Meeting, 7:00pm
Tuesday (12/7)
  • Yearbook large class pictures during lunch – Sophomores wear gray
  • Naples Christmas Parade, Call 3:00pm
Wednesday (12/8)
  • Yearbook large class pictures during lunch – Juniors wear black
  • Winterfest Dress Rehearsal, 2:30-5:00pm
  • Make-up Band Camp Party, 5:30-8:30pm
Thursday (12/9)
  • Yearbook large class pictures during lunch – Seniors wear green
  • Winterfest Concert, Call 5:30, Performance 6:30pm
Friday (12/10)
  • Winterfest Concert, Call 5:30, Performance 6:30pm


Alternate Travel Forms for the Naples Parade (Due Mon. 12/6): Please turn in your Alternate Travel Request Forms by 11:00am tomorrow morning! The form can be found here: https://www.prhsbands.org/uploads/1/0/7/8/107847845/alternate_travel_request.pdf. Please be reminded that Mrs. Robinson will only dismiss a student to their parents or legal guardians. Parents should also be advised that it can be very difficult to locate students at the end of the parade. At the conclusion of the parade, we will walk to wherever our buses are parked. Parents will have to follow the band as they travel to their buses. Mrs. Robinson will not be able to dismiss any students until all of the students have been assembled by the buses and trailer.


Winterfest Dress Rehearsals (Mon. 12/6 and Wed. 12/8): All band and auxiliary students will have dress rehearsals for Winterfest on Monday and Wednesday from 2:30-5:00pm. The only students required to dress up for these rehearsals are auxiliary students and those who are performing in the “Couples Dance.” All rehearsals are required and graded. Students who do not attend the dress rehearsals will not be allowed to perform in the concerts.


Make-up Band Camp Party (Wed. 12/8): Our Band Boosters will host the Make-up Band Camp Party for the Marching Pride on Wednesday, December 8th. The party will start in the band room after our Winterfest dress rehearsal at 5:30pm and it will conclude at 8:30pm. We will have pizza, ice cream, and drinks in the Percussion Room and then we’ll have a DJ in the Band Room. We will need students to RSVP by 2:00pm on Monday, December 6th at https://forms.gle/MgHPJHx2yFPpbG5Y8. The party is not required, but we hope that students will want to attend to celebrate their accomplishments. Students who RSVP will receive a wristband, which will be required for entry.


Naples Christmas Parade (Tues. 12/7): The Marching Pride will be performing at Naples Christmas Parade on Tuesday, December 7th. Call time will be 3:30pm. Band students will wear this year’s black Pure Imagination shirt, green marching band shorts, tall black socks, and marching band shoes with their marching band uniform. Band students are encouraged to wear Santa hats or other holiday related hats/headbands and decorate their instruments. Auxiliary students will wear their pregame uniform, black leggings, tights, black outdoor shoes, with full hair and makeup. Auxiliary students are encouraged to wear Santa hats or other holiday related hats/headbands. The parade starts at 6:00pm on Broad Street, then it will travel north on Third St. South, continue east on Fifth Ave. South, and then conclude on 8th Street South by the Naples City Hall. Students who ordered a healthy snack meal will receive their meals at 3:00pm in the band room. Students who did not order a healthy snack meal will be required to bring their own dinner. The estimated return to PRHS is approximately 9:30-10:00pm.


Winterfest Concerts (Thurs. 12/9 and Fri. 12/10): Winterfest is the PRHS Music Department Holiday Concert. There will be two concerts, one on Thursday, December 9th and one on Friday, December 10th. These concerts will feature the PRHS concert bands, orchestras, choir, jazz bands, auxiliary, percussion, and the Marching Pride! Doors will open at 5:45pm and the concerts will start at 6:30pm in the auditorium. It’s general admission, which means that seating is first come, first served. The concert will end around 8:30pm.


Winterfest Concert Tickets: Admission is $5.00. We are accepting cash and checks. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time through Mrs. Robinson, Mr. Claro, or Mr. Bigler before school, during lunch, or after school starting on Monday, December 6th. Tickets will also be available at the ticket booth upon arrival on the day of the concerts. When pre-ordering tickets, students will need to specify if they’re purchasing tickets for the Thursday or Friday night concert.  


Winterfest Student Attire: Auxiliary students have a specified uniform based on their routine. Band students will wear their concert band uniforms with black dress shoes and black socks. Since this is a holiday concert, students have the option to wear holiday themed attire with their concert band uniforms. Ex. Holiday themed suits, Christmas sweaters, Santa hats, holiday socks, etc. Students may NOT wear pajama pants, onesies, and/or slippers.


Concert Attire and Marching Band Shoe Donations: We are looking for any gently used marching band shoes or concert attire uniforms. If you or someone you know is no longer using these items, please consider donating them to the Marching Pride. We have some students who are not able to purchase the uniform and/or shoes. You can give the donations to Mrs. Robinson.


Tri-M Toys for Tots: The PRHS Tri-M Music Honor Society is collecting toy donations for Toys for Tots. They are going to collect all toy donations in the auditorium lobby during the Winterfest concerts. Toys should not be wrapped. Please consider helping our Tri-M students and their cause.


Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music (239) 275-6262 and Christman Music (239) 254-8863. If needed, please be sure to get your instrument fixed and have all your needed supplies. Christman Music visits PRHS on Mondays and Cadence Music comes on Fridays.
