It was so great to be back in Bear Stadium on a Friday night! It was an exciting game and we loved cheering on our team with our cheerleaders and having the Marching Pride playing and dancing in the stands. Thank you to all who came out to support our school and we’d especially like to thank all our parent volunteers and Band Boosters who worked concessions, equipment, and chaperoning. We hope to see you again this Friday night!
This week PRHS is hosting their Open House on Monday night from 6:00-7:30pm. We are rehearsing on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-8:30pm. On Friday, we have our home game against our “Band-in-Laws” Barron Collier High School! Call time for the game is 5:00pm and the game starts at 7:00pm.
CCPS is monitoring the weather very closely and will provide updates should there be an impact to school activities. For the latest information, please visit www.collierschools.com/weather

This Week’s Schedule:
New Marching Pride Swag (Due Fri. 9/1): Our Band Boosters have new Marching Pride Swag! For more information, please refer to Marching Pride Swag.
Parent Help Needed: The Band Boosters are looking for someone with a connection to LP gas deep fryer and grill maintenance. If you’re able to help, please contact our Head Concession Chair, Mr. Bill Strom at email@example.com.
Thursday Rehearsal Attire (Thurs. 8/31): For this Thursday, band students will wear a gray shirt (any shirt that is gray) with dark colored shorts. Auxiliary will wear their normal white on black. Students need the following items for every rehearsal: 64 oz water jug filled with water, instrument/auxiliary equipment, lanyard & coordinate sheets, 1-inch binder with sheet protectors, pencils, proper attire and shoes with socks, and bug spray is recommended
Home Game vs. Barron Collier HS (Fri. 9/1): Call time for students is 5:00pm. The band room will be closed from 2:30-4:30pm. Band students will wear this year’s black WNW shirt, this year’s black marching band shorts, solid black socks, and marching band shoes. Auxiliary students will wear this year’s black WNW shirt, pregame leggings, tights, black auxiliary shoes, earrings, and full hair and makeup. The game starts at 7:00pm and tickets are available on gofan.co. If you are not attending the game, please be prepared to pick-up your student around 10:00pm. Students will text and call their rides when they return to the band room at the end of the game.
Game Day Student Drop-off and Pick-up: For Friday, please drop-off your student in either the back of the school by the portables or in the bus loop. Student pick-up will be in the main loop by the flagpole. Thank you for your cooperation.
Game Day Student & Staff Parking: All Marching Pride students, staff, and parent volunteers will park in the back parking lot by the portables for Friday night’s game. The front parking lots are reserved for paying spectators. You will be asked to move your vehicle if you park in front of the school or in the bus parking lot located behind the visitor’s stands. Thank you for your cooperation.
Stadium Clean-up (Fri. 9/1): This Friday, clean-up duty is assigned to the Brass Section. (Percussion and Auxiliary will have the next home game. Woodwinds will have the game after that.) Students will be provided with gloves when they return to the stadium. This process does not take long when all assigned students help out.
Instrument Repair & Equipment: Our trusted local vendors are Cadence Music and Christman Music. Both vendors drop of orders and pick-up instruments for repair at PRHS—but parents must call the vendor to make these types of arrangements. Instruments will not be picked up unless orders for repair are made with the vendor ahead of time. Contact information for Cadence Music and Christman Music can be found on the band website by selecting “Students,” then “Band Instrument Resources.”
Krispy Kreme Fundraiser (Starts Fri. 9/1): Our Band Boosters are starting their Krispy Kreme Fundraiser on Friday. Order forms will be distributed in class. This will be a Band Booster/Band Trip Fundraiser. All students are expected to sell 2 items for the Band Boosters. After the 2 items, all other profits can be used towards this year’s band trip to Disney. For more information or questions, please reach out to Band Booster Vice President, Mrs. Sandra Llorca at Sandra.firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tri-M Music Honors Society Information Meeting (Wed. 9/6): Tri-M is holding an Information Meeting on Wednesday, September 6th at 11:50am in the band room. Tri-M Music Honors Society is a National Association for Music Education (NAfME) program, which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy. A flyer with more information is posted in the band room.
