Congratulations to our Varsity Guard on winning Class A Indoor Guard at the FFCC Regional Competition at Seminole Ridge High School! In addition to winning their class, Varsity Guard also earned the highest score of all performing indoor guard groups at the competition! Congratulations ladies!
Our Mid-Year Band Concert will be on Wednesday, February 22nd. The concert will start at 6:00pm with one of the Immokalee Middle School concert bands. This concert will feature two concert bands from Immokalee Middle School, Cypress Palm Middle School’s Advanced Band, Corkscrew Middle School’s Symphonic Band, all three PRHS concert bands, both PRHS jazz bands, and a few select Solo & Ensemble performances. Admission is free and our Band Boosters will be offering snacks and drinks in the lobby. Call time for all students is 5:00pm. Doors will open at 5:30pm. On Friday, our Auxiliary Team will travel to Lely High School for their District Auxiliary MPA! We have a very early call time of 5:15am. In order to get to LHS before our performance time, we have to leave PRHS very early. Students will be able to prepare their hair and make-up at Lely High School. The team is performing in the gym from 8:30-12:30pm. Parents are welcome to come to watch. There is no admission charge. Here are last week’s Musicians/Performers and Section of the Week. District Auxiliary MPA (Fri. 2/24): All indoor auxiliary groups are required to perform at District Auxiliary MPA. Auxiliary MPA will be at Lely High School on Friday, February 24th. Our indoor groups and soloists will be performing at Lely from 8:30am-12:30pm. Students will travel to and from Lely via school bus. Alternate travel forms are due now past due. Call time is now 5:15am. The approximate return to PRHS is 2:00pm. Students should either bring money for concessions or a packed lunch. Jazz 1 Performance (Sat. 2/25): Jazz Band 1 has been invited to perform at the Naples Grande Resort for the Champions of Learning Golden Apple Awards Night. Students will meet at the Naples Grande Resort at 5:00pm and they will be done by 7:00pm. Students will have to provide their own transportation to this event. More details will be provided in class. District Concert Band MPA (Thurs. 3/2 and Fri. 3/3): Concert Band MPA will be held at Gulf Coast High School. All bands will travel to and from Gulf Coast via school bus. Alternate travel forms are due by Monday, February 27th. Wind Symphony and Symphonic Winds will perform on Thursday, March 2nd. Call time will be 4:00pm. Approximate return to PRHS is 9:00pm. Wind Ensemble will perform on Friday, March 3rd. Call time will be 5:00pm. Approximate return to PRHS is 8:30pm. (These times are tentative and may change.) All students must have their concert band attire to perform at District Concert Band MPA. In addition to the concert band attire, students will wear solid black socks and solid black dress shoes. Marching band shoes are permissible. The schedule is posted in the band room. Next Week’s After School Concert Band Rehearsals (Mon. 2/27, Tues. 2/28, & Wed. 3/1): Times have changed for next week’s after school concert band rehearsals. This is to provide the students extra time to practice for sight-reading. Wind Symphony will rehearse on Monday, 2/27 from 2:15-3:30pm. Wind Ensemble will rehearse on Tues. 2/28 from 2:15-4:00pm. Symphonic Winds will rehearse on Wednesday, 3/1 from 2:15-3:30pm. Concert Band Attire: By now all band students should have their concert attire ready. It is each band family’s responsibility to order and purchase these uniforms. All band students were required to turn in a picture of their concert attire through the assignment page posted on Canvas. This assignment will count as a grade in the “Tests and Assignments” category. This assignment was due on Friday, February 17th. In addition to the concert attire, students are to wear solid black dress shoes. Marching band shoes are sufficient. Information is attached to this email and is also posted on the band website under the “Students” tab under “2022-2023 Information.” Texas Trip Boxed Lunch Order #2: If you have not already done so, please log in to your account at www.brtpayments.com to select your second boxed lunch option for Monday, March 13.
