Weekly Update

​We are so proud of all of our students on completing a very successful band camp! The students worked so hard over the past two weeks and accomplished so much. We cannot wait to see what they achieve this season!

The students displayed their school pride as they dressed up for the themes throughout the week. Thank you to our student officers for organizing Spirit Week and for encouraging everyone to participate. It really makes a difference when everyone gets involved and shows their school spirit! 

Thank you to our Band Boosters for all of their help throughout band camp and thank you for hosting our End of Band Camp Party last Friday night. Thank you DJ Font for providing the music for the dance! Thank you to the Waligora Family and Naples Wedding Catering by Friscos for providing the amazing food and drinks for the party! Our student really enjoyed themselves, thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped to run the event!

• Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser Ends at 11:59pm

First Day of School Drumline Performance & Pep Rally (Wed. 8/10): The Drumline has been invited to perform at the front of the school on the first day of school and SGA is hosting the first Pep Rally of the year and the Marching Pride will perform. 

Marching Band Rehearsals (Start Tues. 8/9): We start our regularly scheduled marching band rehearsals this week. The Marching Pride will rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-8:30pm. These rehearsals are closed to guests and spectators. All rehearsals are posted on the band calendar.

Thursday Rehearsal Attire (Thurs. 8/11): We have a required practice attire for every Thursday night rehearsal. For this Thursday, band students will wear this year’s black band shirt with dark colored shorts and auxiliary will wear a white shirt with black bottoms.

Marching Band Rehearsal Essentials: There is no dinner break for after school rehearsals. Students should eat dinner before arriving to practice. Please don't forget to bring the following to every rehearsal: ½ gallon jug full of water, instrument/auxiliary equipment, lanyard with name tag and coordinate sheet, 1-inch binder with plastic sheet protectors, a pencil, bug spray, snacks for short breaks, and gym shoes & socks.

Student Pick-up, Drop-Off, and Parking for Rehearsals: Please drop-off and pick-up your student in the main loop by the flagpole entrance of the school. All students who drive should park in the student parking lot. Please do not use the faculty parking lot for pick-up, drop-off, or parking. Thank you for your cooperation.
 
Marching Pride Family Night Preview Performance (Thurs. 8/11): The Marching Pride will have their annual Family Night Preview Performance on Thursday, August 11th. This performance will be in Bear Stadium at 8:00pm. There is no admission charge. Gates will open at 7:30pm. We hope to see you there!

Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser (Due Sat. 8/13): This is the final week for our Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who has participated. It looks like we have reached our goal, which is amazing! Let’s keep up the good work and keep selling! All students are asked to sell at least 3 items. The fundraiser will end on Saturday, August 13th at 11:59pm. This fundraiser is 100% online. Instructions on how to get started are attached to this email. Marching Pride Schedule Update: The Home Game that was scheduled on Friday, September 16th has been changed to an away game on Saturday, September 17th. The Marching Pride will not travel with the team for this game. SENIOR NIGHT will now be on Friday, November 4th at the game vs. Golden Gate High School. Both events have been updated in the band calendar.
