We have arrived at the LAST WEEK BEFORE SPRING BREAK!!! So much has happened since we returned in January and I don’t know about you, but it’s all been a blur. Let’s have a great week!

Congratulations to our Varsity Guard! They had another competition this weekend at Lakewood Ranch High School. We are so proud of all their progress in just one week. The team scored almost 5 points higher than last week with a 69.14. Great job ladies!

Congratulations to our Dance Team! They competed at the Bravo Dance Competition today at Lehigh Senior High School. The team earned a Platinum Award for their Contemporary routine and an Elite High Gold on their Lyrical routine. They also won the Awesome Athleticism Award for their lyrical routine. Fantastic work ladies!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Mid-Year Band Concert. All the bands performed great, and we also really appreciated having our middle school bands in attendance. All our concert bands have their District Concert Band MPA this week at Gulf Coast High School. Please don’t forget that these performances are open to the public and are in the auditorium at Gulf Coast High School. There is no admission charge, so please come to support our students if you are available. More details are in a separate attachment.

Here are last week’s Musicians/Performers of the Week:

District Concert Band MPA (Thurs. 3/7 and Fri. 3/8): Our District Concert Band MPA is at Gulf Coast High School. Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble will perform on Thursday, March 7th and Wind Symphony will perform on Friday, March 8th.

Alternate Travel Forms for Concert Band MPA (Past Due): Alternate Travel Forms for District Concert Band MPA are past due. We will not accept Alternate Travel Forms after Tuesday, March 5th.

State Jazz and Solo & Ensemble MPA (Wed. 3/20): Our Jazz Band 1 and select S&E students are traveling to the Dreyfoos School for the Arts on Wednesday, March 20th for State Jazz MPA and State Solo & Ensemble MPA. We have not yet received the schedule. This is usually released over spring break. Due to the location and date of the event, the district cannot provide us with school bus transportation, and we had to book a charter bus. The charter bus is very expensive, and we must ask all attending students to pay $20 to help cover the cost of the bus. We apologize for the inconvenience. The $20 bus fee is due by Tuesday, March 19th.

Drumline & Auxiliary Performance at the CC Fair (Fri. 3/22): Our Drumline and Auxiliary have been invited to perform at the Collier County Fair on Friday, March 22nd. This performance is voluntary, but we hope that all will plan to participate. Students will have to provide their own transportation to the event and will receive free admission. There will be a sign-up sheet posted in the band room on Monday.
