This Week’s Schedule:
 
  • Monday (12/18) Dance Practice 4:00-8:30pm
 Midterms start in class, students need to clean out lockers
    Solo & Ensemble Forms are due!
    Pep Band Forms are due!
    Auxiliary Solo forms are due!
  • Tuesday (12/19) Midterms continue in class, students need to clean out lockers
  • Wednesday (12/20) Midterms continue in class, students need to clean out lockers
  • Thursday (12/21) Midterms conclude, last day to clean out lockers

2018 Band & Auxiliary Event List: An event list of all remaining 2018 rehearsals and performances has been attached to this email. All students must turn in the attached commitment form to confirm that the information has been provided. Commitment forms are due by Friday, January 5th.
 
 
Band Handbook: An updated handbook can be found at the following link http://www.prhsbands.org/forms--handouts.html.  
 
 
Reminders for all band students:
  • All band students must have the required concert band attire by February 2018. Concert attire information can be found at http://www.prhsbands.org/forms--handouts.html.
  • All band students are expected to bring their instruments to class/rehearsal in good working order. If a student’s instrument breaks, it is their responsibility to contact Cadence Music or Christman Music to make arrangements to get it fixed and have a loaner instrument so they can continue to practice. Students are responsible for covering the repair cost of the personal instruments. Students playing on school owned instruments, who have paid the $50 instrument rental fee will not be responsible for covering the repair charge.
 
 
Reminders for all auxiliary students:
  • Auxiliary students are expected to “dress-out” every day in class. “Dressing out” is part of each student’s daily participation grade. Students who do not dress out in class will be put on probation from upcoming performances.
  • All auxiliary students are required to perform a solo in class by February 1st. Students are encouraged to perform these solos at MPA, but it is not required. This activity will count as a performance test grade. Students who perform their solos at MPA will qualify to audition for an officer position in the 2018-2019 school year.
 
Important Dates to Remember: Please take special note to a few dates on the calendar:
 
  • The Marching Pride has been invited to perform in the Naples MLK Parade on Monday, January 15th. All students are expected to perform. Times and details are TBD.
  • Basketball Pep Band will have their first game on Friday, January 12th.
  • Varsity Guard will have their first competition on Saturday, January 20th.
  • District Solo & Ensemble MPA will be on Friday, February 2nd and Saturday, February 3rd at LeHigh Sr. High School
  • District Auxiliary MPA will be on Saturday, February 3rd at LeHigh Sr. High School.
  • Competitive Dance will compete at the Shake the Ground Dance Competition on Sunday, February 4th.
  • District Jazz MPA will be on Monday, February 5th or Tuesday, February 6th at LeHigh Sr. High School.
