This Week’s Schedule:
 
  • Monday (10/09) PRHS Curriculum Night/Open House, 6:15pm
  • Tuesday (10/10) Band Picture Day, All day during class
    Full Rehearsal, 5:30-8:30pm
  • Thursday (10/12) Full Rehearsal, 5:30-8:30pm
  • Friday (10/13) Band Senior Night Game vs. Barron Collier, Call 5:00pm
    • Senior parents, please arrive to PRHS by the flagpole by 5:30pm. The Band Senior Night presentation will start around 6:00-6:15pm.
    • The band will have a post game performance of their show “Something Blue.”
    • The approximate end time is 9:45pm. Please check our Twitter and Facebook for and updates.
  • Saturday (10/14) Full Rehearsal, 2:00-9:00pm
 
 
Game Day Attire: 
 
  • Winds & Percussion: This year’s white band t-shirt, gray marching band shorts, black socks that cover the ankle, and marching band shoes. Students will wear this attire underneath their full marching band uniform. 
  • Auxiliary: Performance tank top, performance black shorts, tights, and tan auxiliary shoes. The auxiliary will change into their show uniforms before the end of the game. (This week is a post game performance.)
 
 
Parent Volunteers Needed:
 
  • Concessions & Band Swag:  Please email Mr. Buddy Rainey at [email protected] if you’re able to help.
  • Chaperones: Please email Mrs. Eileen Fuentes at [email protected] if you are interested in chaperoning.
  • Band Equipment: Please email Mr. Wilfredo Figueroa at [email protected] if you are interested in helping our truck crew move the percussion equipment to the stadium before and after the game.
  • Parent Volunteer Parking has been moved to the back of the school. More information will go out from Mrs. Fuentes, Mr. Rainey, and Mr. Figueroa later this week. It’s very important that if you plan on volunteering that you communicate with our chairs. These parents will be giving a list of names to Activities so there is no confusion as to who is volunteering.
 
 
Band Picture Day: Band Picture Day is on Tuesday, October 10th. Students will take their band pictures during the school day in their band class. Students will need their instruments for the pictures and they will wear their full marching band uniform without the hats.
 
 
Band Senior Night: Seniors, please fill out the information requested at this link: https://goo.gl/forms/tYtYvp8H1Eetz1j12. The link will close on Thurs. 10/12.
 
 
Saturday, 10/14 Rehearsal: Instead of competing at LeHigh Senior, the band will be rehearsing this Saturday from 2:00-9:00pm. All students are expected to attend the entire time. There should be no conflicts with this date and time since students were originally requested to reserve the day and evening for the competition. The students will have a dinner break from 5:00-5:45pm. The Band Boosters will be providing pizza and drinks for the students at this time. Students may choose to bring their own dinner if they do not like pizza.
 
 
Saturday, 10/21 CCPS Band Show & Mariner Marching Band Competition: The CCPS Band Show has been moved to 9:00am. The band will perform at Golden Gate for the festival. Following the Band Show performance, the band will travel the Mariner High School to compete in a marching band competition. All students are expected to attend both activities. There should be no conflicts with this date and time since students were originally requested to reserve the day and evening for the Band Show.
 
 
Cheesecake Fundraiser: All Cheesecake orders are due by Monday, October 16th. Students will profit 40% from each cheesecake sold. All proceeds will go towards this year’s band trip to Universal Studios. Any extra profits will go towards the PRHS Band Program.
 
 
MBI Ads: The Band Boosters are selling MBI ads for our Marching Band Invitational on November 4th. This is an opportunity for local businesses to have their advertisement on display at our event. Ads are $30. All families are asked to participate. It would be very beneficial for the band if every family sold at least one ad.
 
 
Universal Studios Orlando Band Trip: All students who are interested in attending the trip must be paid in full by Monday, October 23rd. The Cheesecake Fundraiser will start on Wednesday, October 4th.
 
 
Important Dates to Remember: Please take special note to a few dates on the calendar:
 
  • CCPS Band Show Festival will be held at Golden Gate High School on Saturday, October 21st. The Festival will start at 9:00am. There will be an admission charge of $7.00 at the gate. Students who do not perform at Band Show will not be allowed to perform at MPA.
  • Mariner Marching Band Competition will be on Saturday, October 21st.  More information will come when it’s received.
  • 8th Grade Band Night has been rescheduled to Friday, October 20th. 8th grade band students from Cypress Palm, Corkscrew, and Oakridge Middle School are all invited to attend.
  • District Marching Band MPA will be held on Saturday, October 28th at Barron Collier High School.
