Let’s hope that the weather cooperates! Please be reminded that our rehearsals are closed to the public. Visitors are not allowed in the stadium or in the school building. Thank you for your cooperation. Thank you to everyone who donated water and other items to the Marching Pride! We appreciate your consideration and support! Thank you to everyone who participated in the Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser. Our top sellers are Cheyenne Chesser, Naomi Santos, Julian Guerra, Seth Magdaleno, Layla Lopez, and Gabriel Portu. Here’s what you need to know for this week’s events. This Week’s Schedule: Tuesday (8/15)
2024 FMEA All-State Audition Sign-up (Due by Fri. 8/18): Students who are interested in auditioning for the 2024 FMEA All-State Band need to sign up by 5:00pm on Friday, August 18th. Band Honors Credit for Juniors and Seniors: Students may choose to take Band Honors 5-6 in their third and fourth year of high school band. Students who are interested in auditioning for All-State, auditioning for All-County, and participating in District S&E MPA should consider taking Band Honors 5-6. Please see Mrs. Robinson for more information. 2023-2024 PRHS Band Handbook & Contract (Due by Mon. 8/21): On Monday, Mrs. Robinson will be reviewing this year’s Band Handbook in class. All parents and students are asked to read pages 1-11 and complete the contract on page 12. This contract is due electronically on Canvas by 5:00pm on Monday, August 21st. This will be counted as a graded assignment. Thank you for your cooperation. Weekly Update on Canvas: All band Canvas pages will be published by late this evening. Once the Canvas pages are published, we will start posting the weekly update in the announcements on Canvas for students who do not have access to email. Every Monday, Mrs. Robinson goes through the Weekly Update in class with the students. It is our belief that students should be responsible for understanding and knowing their schedule. Band & Auxiliary Shoes: Students will be receiving their band and auxiliary shoes this week in class. At this point, anyone needing to order shoes will have to place their orders on their own. These links have been posted on the band website in “2023-2024 Info” under the “Students” tab. After shipping, shoe orders will cost approximately $50. Extra Shirt and Shorts Orders: Most of the students who ordered extra shirts and shorts should’ve received these orders last week in class. We did run out of a few sizes and have already ordered more. We hope to have all extra shirt and short orders to students by next week. Thank you for your patience. Marching Pride Duffel Bag Orders: All auxiliary students who ordered a duffel bag should’ve received these in class last week. We are in the process of ordering more bags. The estimated production time will be 2-3 weeks. Thank you for your patience. Auxiliary Pregame Uniforms: Auxiliary students will be receiving their pregame uniforms by the end of this week in class. The pregame uniform includes: a pregame top, black leggings (for new members), tights, and earrings. Students will not receive their uniforms if they have not finished paying off their band fee. Thursday Rehearsal Attire (Thurs. 8/17): On Thursdays, all band students are assigned a specific-colored shirt for rehearsal. Since we have a performance on Thursday, all band students will wear this year’s black WNW shirt with black bottoms. Auxiliary will wear a white shirt with black bottoms. Marching Pride Family Night Preview Performance Take 2 (Thurs. 8/17): We will try to have our Family Night Preview Performance this Thursday at 8:00pm in Bear Stadium. Gates will open at 7:15pm. This is an opportunity for parents, family, and friends to see what the Marching Pride worked on during band camp. When you arrive, please be mindful that we will still be rehearsing. Guests are not allowed on the track or field. We hope to see you there! Marching Pride Sponsors: We are reaching out to local businesses, family, and friends to help fund our program. Donations will be used towards this year’s marching band expenses. If you know anyone who’d be interested in becoming a Marching Pride Sponsor, please refer to the attached Sponsorship Form. We hope to start advertising our sponsors in the Weekly Update starting next week. Questions? Please email Mrs. Annabelle Robinson at [email protected].
