2021 CCPS Honor Band Information

All students who plan on auditioning for the 2021 Honor Band should have already received and invitation to join the Honor Band Canvas Class. If you did not receive this invitation, please contact your band director!

CCPS Honor Band Schedule

  • ​There are no auditions for Contra Clarinet this year. Students interested will have to audition on Bass Clarinet.
  • Percussion students are not required to prepare a timpani exercise this year.
  • All students who are interested in auditioning will be added to a “District Honor Band Course” on Canvas.
  • Videos will be submitted through Studio on Canvas.
  • The window to turn in your audition recordings will open at 12:00am on January 20th and close at 11:59pm on January 24th. Please plan accordingly.
  • All band members must attend ALL rehearsals and the concert.  There are no excused absences.
  • Please practice your music and have it prepared before the first rehearsal
  • If you have any questions, please ask your band director.

Details

Friday, March 5th   
All students must provide their own transportation to and from Gulf Coast High School.  Once you arrive at GCHS, park outside the band room door (left side of the school next to the bus loop) and go in through the band hallway doors.  Rehearsal is from 9am-5pm. Lunch will be provided for all participating students. Students may choose to bring their own packed lunch if the provided lunch does not suit their dietary needs.
 
Saturday, March 6th
Rehearsal runs from 9:00-11:00am for the 9/10 band and from 11:00am-1:00pm for the 11/12 band. The band clinician may decide to shorten this rehearsal depending on how much is accomplished on Thursday and Friday. Once students are released from the morning rehearsal, they are free to leave campus to eat lunch. All students will need to return to Gulf Coast High School at 2:15pm dressed in their concert attire.  The concert starts at 3:00pm, doors will open at 2:15pm. 
 
2021 Honor Band Concert Attire
Concert attire is the required concert attire from each band program. Students will wear what their band director requires them to wear at Concert Band MPA. If you have any questions, please ask your band director.
