Thank you to everyone who came out to support the concert and jazz bands at the Winter Band Concert last Thursday! All bands performed well and we were looking forward to having all of our concert bands perform at District MPA this week!

    • Symphonic Winds Dress Rehearsal, 2:15-3:15pm

    • Dance Practice 4:00-8:30pm
  • Wednesday (3/7)
    • Symphonic Band MPA Performance, Call 2:30pm, Perform 4:00pm @GCHS

    • Yankee Candle Fundraiser is due!

Band Booster Meeting: There will be no Band Booster meeting this week. The next Band Booster Meeting will be next month in April.
 
 
Band Dress Rehearsals: The concert band dress rehearsals this week will be in the band room. Students must be in attendance in order to perform in the District MPA performances this week. Students do not need to wear their concert attire for these rehearsals. 
 
 
District Concert Band MPA: District Concert Band MPA performances will be on Wednesday, March 7th for Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony. Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble will be performing on Thursday, March 8th.
  • Symphonic Band (Wed. 3/7) Call 2:30pm, Performance 4:00pm
  • Wind Symphony (Wed. 3/7) Call 5:00pm, Performance 7:00pm
  • Symphonic Winds (Thurs. 3/8) Call 12:30pm, Performance 2:30pm
  • Wind Ensemble (Thurs. 3/8) Call 6:30pm, Performance 8:30pm
 
 
Important Dates to Remember: Please take special note to a few dates on the calendar:
 
  • The next Varsity Guard Competition is on Saturday, March 10th. The team is traveling to Durant.
  • The Bravo Dance Competition is on Sunday, March 11th at Lehigh Sr. High School.
  • State Solo & Ensemble MPA will be at John I. Leonard High School on March 19, 20, or 21.
  • State Auxiliary MPA will be on Wednesday, March 28th at Palmetto Ridge High School. All auxiliary groups will be performing at State.
  • 2018-2019 Marching Pride Information Meeting will be on Tuesday, April 3rd. This meeting will be for all new and returning students and parents who are interested in joining the band next season.
 
 
Upcoming Fundraisers: 
 
  • Yankee Candle Fundraiser (Monday 2/26 through Thursday 3/8): Our Band Boosters will be selling Yankee Candles for the Spring. This fundraiser is for all band students to help raise money for the Band Banquet. All orders are due by Thursday, March 8th—the last school day for students before Spring Break.
  • Collier County Fair (Thursday 3/15 through Sunday 3/25): The Band Boosters will be renting wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs at the County Fair. We are in need of at least two people minimum per shift. If you are able to help out at the rental tent during the fair, please contact Mr. Buddy Rainey at [email protected] or 239-404-9134.
 
 
Parent Volunteers Needed: 
 
  • District Concert Band MPA (Wednesday, 3/7 and Thursday, 3/8): Please contact Mrs. Fuentes at [email protected] if you’d like to help chaperone. Parents will be needed for the following times and dates: Parents are still needed for this event.
    • Symphonic Band parents will be needed on Wednesday, March 7th from 2:30-5:30pm.
    • Wind Symphony parents will be needed on Wednesday, March 7th from 5:30-8:30pm.
    • Symphonic Wind parents will be needed on Thursday, March 8th from 1:00-4:00pm.
    • Wind Ensemble parents will be needed on Thursday, March 8th from 6:30-9:45pm.
  • Collier County Fair (Thursday 3/15 through Sunday 3/25): The Band Boosters will be renting wagons, strollers, and wheelchairs at the County Fair.
