Band Camp 2020

Required Band Camp Forms

All forms and Proof of Insurance are required in order to participate in Band Sectionals and Band Camp. All forms must be submitted on AthleticClearance.com by Sunday, July 26th. ​

Special Note: Please know that students will be outside for the duration of all sectionals and band camp rehearsals. This is to ensure that students are able to remain socially distant during practice. Directors and Staff will be allowing ample water breaks throughout the day. Students will have to provide their own water by bringing a full 1/2 gallon jug to practice. It is also very important that students use sunscreen and dress appropriately for these practices. Masks will be required upon arrival to practice, during breaks, and at any time students are engaged in non-aerobic activities.

Required Materials & Equipment 

  • A 1/2 gallon jug full of water (Students will not be permitted to practice without water.)
  • A mask or face covering (Students will not be permitted to practice without a face covering.)
  • Instrument/Auxiliary Equipment and all additional accessories needed for your instrument/section.
  • 1.5" Binder with protective plastic sheets
  • A pencil
  • A black permanent marker
  • Sunscreen
  • Deodorant 
  • Bug Repellant (recommended for evening rehearsals) 
  • All brass students are required to bring and use a hand towel to absorb condensation from their instrument. This towel must be cleaned after every practice. 
  • All woodwind players are required to bring and use a cleaning swab, which will be used at the end of every practice. Cloth swabs must bee cleaned after every practice. 

Students are encouraged to write their name on their belongings: water jug, face covering, instrument case & equipment, binder, etc. 

What is the appropriate attire for Sectionals and Band Camp?

  • A mask or face covering
  • Caps & Hats
  • Sunglasses
  • Shorts (must be at fingertip length or with spandex underneath)
  • Sneakers and socks (no sandals, flip-flops, or sliders)
  • Light colored top (no spaghetti straps, tube tops, or midriffs. All clothing must coincide with the District Dress Code)
  • Auxiliary uniform: white t-shirt & black shorts.

What not to wear or bring to Sectionals and Band Camp

  • Avoid wearing denim and clothing made of heavy fabric.
  • Avoid dark colored clothing.
  • Absolutely no sandals, flip-flops, or sliders!
  • No gum!
  • No soda!
  • Avoid bringing valuable items such as jewelry, electronics, etc.
  • Cell phones are NOT allowed during rehearsals. 

Ways to prepare yourself for Sectionals and Band Camp

  • Students must wash their hands before arriving to practice. 
  • Practice your instrument/choreo before camp.
  • Get a good night’s rest before each day of camp.
  • Drink plenty of fluids that do NOT contain large amounts of sugar or caffeine.
  • Make sure you eat a healthy high protein/carb breakfast every morning.
  • If you haven't done much physical activity in a while, start to get a little more active prior to sectionals. 
  • Take a shower and use deodorant before and after every practice.
