The Marching Pride had a very busy and successful weekend! We had nearly seventy 8th grade band students from Cypress Palm and Corkscrew Middle join us last Friday Night. We hope to see all of them next year in the program! Saturday morning we had a very successful Band Show where all 7 high school marching bands were featured. Later that evening, the band attended their first prelim/final marching band competition. In prelims, the band placed 2nd in their class and 2nd overall. They also won a trophy for best Auxiliary and GE (General Effect). In finals, the band placed 2nd overall! Here is a link to the band’s performance from finals: https://youtu.be/6D5KH_obmH4
I’d like to thank all of our parent volunteers who came out to help feed our students, chaperone and help with our truck crew. It was a very long day and we couldn’t have done it without our parent volunteers. Thank you for all of your hard work and support for our students and program!

Winds & Percussion: This year’s green band t-shirt, athletic shorts, black socks that cover the ankle, and marching band shoes. Students will wear this attire underneath their full marching band uniform.
Auxiliary: Performance tank top, performance black shorts, tights, and tan auxiliary shoes. The auxiliary will not change into their show uniforms for this game. (This week is a half time performance without props.)
Winds & Percussion: This year’s white band t-shirt, gray marching band shorts, black socks that cover the ankle, and marching band shoes. Students will wear this attire underneath their full marching band uniform.

MBI Parent Volunteers: The Band Boosters are looking for parent volunteers to help with our Marching Band Invitational. Parents who are interested in helping should email Mrs. Yates at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Saturday, 10/28 Marching MPA: The FBA District 18 Marching MPA is this Saturday at Barron Collier High School. This festival performance is the culmination of the entire marching band season. FBA judges will evaluate each marching band on the following criteria: music, general effect, visual performance, percussion, and auxiliary. Marching bands will receive a rating of superior, excellent, good, fair, or poor in each category. Parents and families are encouraged to attend this event. There is an admission charge of $7.00 at the gate.
MBI Ads: The Band Boosters are selling MBI ads for our Marching Band Invitational on November 4th. This is an opportunity for local businesses to have their advertisement on display at our event. Ads are $30. All families are asked to participate. It would be very beneficial for the band if every family sold at least one ad.
Universal Studios Orlando Band Trip: All students who are interested in attending the trip must be paid in full by Monday, October 23rd.

The Marching Pride Truck or Treat will be on Monday, October 30th in the faculty parking lot from 8:00-8:45pm.
14th Annual PRHS Marching Band Invitational will be held on Saturday, November 4th at Palmetto Ridge High School.
All County Band Auditions will be held on Wednesday, November 8th at Palmetto Ridge High School. Parent volunteers will be needed for this event, which will be from 2:30-9:00pm.
The Naples Christmas Parade has been moved to Tuesday, December 12th.
