Game Day Attire:
Winds & Percussion: This year’s green band t-shirt, gray marching band shorts, black socks that cover the ankle, and marching band shoes. Students will wear this attire underneath their full marching band uniform.
Auxiliary: Performance tank top, performance black shorts, tights, and tan auxiliary shoes.
Parent Volunteers Needed:
Concessions/Band Swag: We’re looking for parent volunteers to help with concessions and selling band swag at Friday’s game. Parents are also needed to help prepare the concession stand area on Tuesday during band practice. Please email Mr. Buddy Rainey at email@example.com if you’re able to help.
Chaperones: Please email Mrs. Eileen Fuentes at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in chaperoning this Friday.
Home Football Game Admission & Parking: Our Activities Office would like to remind parents and families that there is an admission charge and parking fee for all home games. The admission charge is $6.00 at the gate and parking is $5.00. Band parents who are attending the game as spectators will still be charged these fees. (Apparently, there has been some confusion in the past.) Please plan accordingly.
Required Band Forms: We are still missing some student forms. If your student is still missing any forms, you will be receiving a separate email. Please turn in your forms ASAP. Students who are still missing forms will eventually be held from after school rehearsals and performance.
Band Booster Meeting: Our Band Boosters are holding their first meeting this Wednesday in the band room. The meeting will begin at 7:00pm. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.
Car Wash Fundraiser Cancelled: The Car Wash Fundraiser that was scheduled for Saturday, September 9th has been cancelled. The next scheduled fundraiser is the MBI Ad Fundraiser. More information will be provided next week.
All State Auditions: Students who have signed up to audition for All State are reminded that auditions are on Saturday, September 16th at Paul Dunbar Middle School in Fort Myers. All students are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from Paul Dunbar Middle School. Audition times will be given to the students when it is posted by FBA.
Universal Studios Orlando Band Trip: If you’re student is still interested in attending the Universal Studios Band Trip, please have them turn in their commitment form and deposit ASAP.
CHARMS: CHARMS Office Assistant is used for student accounts and email communication. Please check your accounts to make sure your contact information is accurate. Instructions on how to access your CHARMS account can be found at the following link: http://www.prhsbands.org/charms.html.
Important Dates to Remember: Please take special note to a few dates on the calendar:
PRHS has rescheduled their Curriculum/Open House Night to Monday, September 11th. The Open House will begin at 6:30pm in the auditorium.
There is Early Dismissal 9/20, along with no school on 9/21, but there is still a required football game performance on 9/22. It’s a home game and it’s also 8th grade night. In following week, we have a required football game performance on a Thursday night (9/28). We will not have Thursday night rehearsal on 9/21 or 9/28—instead, we will have a Saturday rehearsal on 9/23 from 8:00am-4:00pm. This rehearsal is mandatory.
There is no school on 10/16 and 10/17 but the band will still rehearse on Tuesday, 10/17 from 5:30-8:30pm. This rehearsal is required. We could not move it or cancel it because Band Show is that weekend (10/21) and MPA is the following weekend (10/28).
