Universal Studios Orlando Band Trip: We will hold our first trip meeting on Monday, August 21st at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Please plan to attend if you’d like more information on our upcoming trip.
FAQs for the Universal Studios Band Trip Meeting:
Is this meeting for parents or students? This meeting is for both parents and students. It’s always preferred that students attend this meeting with their parents, but students can attend without their parents and parents can attend without their students.
If we do not attend this meeting, can our student still attend the trip? Yes.
What information will be provided at this meeting? We will trip costs, payment due dates, chaperones for the trip, fundraising opportunities, and a general itinerary will be provided.
Will there be any other trip meetings? Yes, the next trip meeting will be in November.
Required Band Forms: At this point, all students have turned in their Emergency Forms and Travel Authorization Forms. There are still some students who need to turn in their physicals, consent forms, photo media, and random drug testing form. Please turn in your forms ASAP.
A few reminders to parents and students:
During the school day, the band room is only accessible to music students. Non-music students are not allowed to enter the band room between passing periods, during lunch, or after school. Band students are reminded to follow this request.
At the end of the school day, the band room will close at 2:30pm. If there is an after school rehearsal, the band room will reopen at 5:00pm. If the band call time is before 5:00pm, the band room will remain open after school is dismissed at 2:05pm. Students are not allowed to wait on school grounds when they are not under a teacher or staff member’s supervision.
If your family is on a payment plan for band fees, please keep in mind that it is almost the end of the month. Please make another payment at your earliest convenience.
Please remind students to take care of their belongings: band t-shirts, shorts, marching shoes, etc. We have 255 students in the band who all own the same shirts, shoes, and shorts. If a student loses their band t-shirt, shorts, or anything else, they will have to purchase a replacement.
CHARMS: CHARMS Office Assistant is used for student accounts and email communication. Please check your accounts to make sure your contact information is accurate. Instructions on how to access your CHARMS account can be found at the following link: http://www.prhsbands.org/charms.html.

Open House/Curriculum Night: Palmetto Ridge High School is hosting it’s Open House on Monday, August 28th starting at 6:30pm.
There is Early Dismissal 9/20, along with no school on 9/21, but there is still a required football game performance on 9/22. It’s a home game and it’s also 8th grade night. In following week, we have a required football game performance on a Thursday night (9/28). We will not have Thursday night rehearsal on 9/21 or 9/28—instead, we will have a Saturday rehearsal on 9/23 from 8:00am-4:00pm. This rehearsal is mandatory.
There is no school on 10/16 and 10/17 but the band will still rehearse on Tuesday, 10/17 from 5:30-8:30pm. This rehearsal is required. We could not move it or cancel it because Band Show is that weekend (10/21) and MPA is the following weekend (10/28).
